West side people are actually spoiled… The Original Botak Jones at Bulim Square is serving HUGE portions, cheap prices, and insane Western food. First up, the Wagyu Beef Striploin (MB 4/5)… super tender, juicy, and it legit melts in your mouth with that rich brown beef gravy. Then we hit the main character — the U-crazy-what Set… three beef patties stacked into a monster burger. It’s messy, it’s huge, it’s giving chaos in the best way. The sides were not playing around either… The Chicken Gumbo is rich, hearty, and super comforting. The Mushroom Soup is thick, creamy, and packed with real mushroom flavour. The Double-Baked Cheese Potato is basically a cheesy, creamy, loaded potato dream And yeah, even the coleslaw is there to balance everything out. But the real villain is the Whoopass Cheese Fries — crinkle-cut fries loaded with Cajun spice, beef chili, and melted mozzarella. This is dangerous. And to pretend we’re being healthy… the Fish Caesar Salad with crispy fish fillet actually slaps. Overall at The Original Botak Jones, Bulim Square — this is wallet-friendly, big-portion, super satisfying Western food. Cheap vibes, huge plates, maximum happiness.
View on GoogleIt was a mission to locate this joint,as the main road leading to the building is not yet officially opened yet, as such sometimes you got to drive on the other side of the road due to ongoing construction. Underground carpark height is at 2.2meter and empty with not much tenant inside the building yet, we tot we have the difficult part over, but some lifts in the building is not in operation yet, and finally managed to gain access to the level 2 using T1 lobby A, nearest parking lot is at i16, when you are at level 2 you just got to try look for marybrown first, then you will need to turn left to a cafeteria called Sprouts where you will find nearly all sorts of food. We are so happy to see the Botak Jones shop, not sure why, might be due the effort you gotta make to just get there. We quickly placed our order at the self service kiosk and made payment. On of the guys from Botak Jones (Clarance) was there to greet us and we have also shared with him our lil adventure coming to his shop. While we sat down and waited for our buzzer to sound, the entire place is nicely decorated with comfy cushion and cosy lighting to add on to the mood. First to arrive is my wife's ckn chop with some sauce, portion seemed to have shrunked and does have a nice char grill mark on it, but she was a bit disappointed that all that char grill mark has made he thin ckn thigh a tad dry, the ckn marinade was abit too overpowering for her taste. Next up was the big basket of tater tots, well fried and crispy, but I just couldn't finish it all epic fail on my part. Finally my fish and chips was served to me by Clarance and it tasted pretty good, the fish seemed a bit over fried as some areas around the edges was tough to cut or even bite through. Overall, given that they have just started operating they might be still getting the hang of things and the cook times. Keep up the good work Clarance, your presence and cheerfulness has made our average dinner meal felt a lot more worthwhile the trip here.
View on GoogleThis is a newly open outlet at Bulim, near Jurong West. We like it here because it’s very spacious and chill. Many people actually drink here at night. What we had: Wagyu Striploin Steak My steak was well done, served with their homemade brown sauce and my preferred sides. Tender, juicy, and packed with flavour. Whoopass Cheese Fries Crinkle-cut fries topped with their special chilli and melted mozzarella cheese. Spicy, cheesy, and seriously addictive. Great to pair with beer! Tortilla Chips with Tomato Salsa Crispy tortilla chips served with homemade tomato salsa. A simple but satisfying snack to start the meal. Finished it in minutes!
View on GoogleI’m sorry Mr Bernie but as someone who used to frequently visit your Clementi branch, the food we had today weren’t up to expectations :( The fish was thin and overly fried, I can’t cut through unless I use the knife. The chicken was ok.. The gumbo chicken.. is just oily spiced water.. I hope standards can improve, I miss the old botak jones..
View on GoogleThick cut Ribeye at $28. Tasty and well prepared. Sides are not as expected. Housed within the Sprout Place Food court. Order at the stall’s machine and get a buzzer.
