Cool place in the modern industrial area of Bulim Jurong. Based on old photos, you might think it is a standalone building. But do note that it is not that anymore. They are now situated in a good court area. It's pretty nice place. Quiet office building at night. The food is pretty good too. The curry is shiok. The seafood is fresh. Happy to go back again with family.

Revisited here on 03/05/2026 for our Mother’s Day celebration. We tried the curry fish head, and the gravy was rich and well done. As for the other dishes, they were fairly standard and similar to what you would find elsewhere. Overall, it was an average dining experience at Lai Huat Gambas. 0n 20264First time visiting with a group of friends and we really enjoyed the food and ambience. We went for the buffet lunch, which includes unlimited ordering of selected side dishes. It’s a good option for big groups. Drinks are charged separately.Lai Huat @ Gambas.

The zi char is inside the food court near the industry estate. When we went there, we were surprised the place was crowded with people. The fish head with the red grouper slice fish was fresh and thickly slice. The soup was nice and sweet. The baby squid 🐙 is crispy and not too sweet. Crayfish bee hoon was nice but lacked of wokhey. There was 2 crayfish cut into 2. The emperor chicken was tender even the breast was not tough but lacked of herbal taste. The brocoli was nicely stir fry with scallops. The crispy butter pork was a disappointment as it does not present itself with what taste. The pork ribs king was tender and nice and not too sweet. The homemade prawn roll was nice and has a crispy chestnut.

The reservation system at this store seriously needs a major overhaul. It was very frustrating to see many tables left empty because they were reserved for customers arriving an hour or more later, while a large number of walk-in customers were made to wait with no flexibility at all. A more sensible approach would be to seat waiting customers at those tables and move upcoming reservations to tables that are about to finish. The whole process felt very rigid and gave the impression that walk-in customers were not welcome, especially during peak periods. Watching so many people wait while empty tables sat unused was disappointing. Personally, the only reason I still visit is because my parents live nearby. Otherwise, I would not visit this place. If you’re planning to come on a weekend, be prepared for a long wait, and unless you have a reservation, you may want to consider other options. Do not recommend.
