Well, this is the only minangnese good I’ve tried in SG, so I can’t compare to anything. But, i can assure you the taste was quite authentic to the ones I’ve had in indonesia. Everything was so good. All friends loved all the dishes as well. I will def come back if i miss indonesian food haha. Don’t have much to say coz everything equally stood out. Price is reasonable too.
View on GoogleDelicious and satisfying! The food was flavorful and authentic — truly reminded me of home-cooked Minang meals. Service was fast and friendly, and the staff made us feel welcome. Loved the clean, cozy setting too. Definitely a great way to start the day. will be coming back.
View on GoogleOne of rare Indonesian (Minang) eateries in the West. Visited a few times when it was newly opened, taking over the place from an Arnold Fried Chicken outlet. Haven't tried their other branches, which are located in the downtown and Tampines. Their Minang stuffs are pretty authentic and rather fairly priced (rice set meals are priced $7-10). The rendang's gravy was of the right moisture (semi-solid, no longer runny) and well-caramelized beyond just being normal curries. The perkedel (deep fried potato patty), egg curry/sambal, long beans curry, green chili sambal, and sambal eggplant were spot on. The fish fries seems to be less consistent and a bit hard, perhaps I always came at wrong timing when it already sat for a bit too long. They also sell some Minang snacks, imported all the way from West Sumatra, such as keripik balado (fiery cassava chips). However, the authenticity stops there. Lots of items are not of Minang origin, for example the soto, sambal tempeh (it's a foreign stuff for ethnic Minang folks), as well as lack of some trademark Minang dishes like young jackfruit gravy and ayam pop (lightly curried chicken). The cassava leaf is also cooked differently, here it's mixed with coconut milk-based gravy instead of just simply steamed without any garnish. Lastly, only indoor dining space is available, so if the other option is to take away (bungkus) the dish, which is packed in lunch box (the banana leaf on the bottom of the box is a nice touch!).
View on Google📍 Rumah Makan Minang – The Frontier CC, Singapore 🇸🇬 Came here for breakfast and it was superb! 🍴 Tried the Mee Soto 🍜—flavorful, comforting, and perfect in the morning—paired with a Teh C less sweet ☕ that was just right. The meal and drink cost $7.60 💵, which is very good value for the quality and taste. Staff were welcoming and friendly 😊, and the calm, relaxing décor 🌿 added to the pleasant atmosphere. A yummy, satisfying spot I’d happily return to for authentic local meals. 🙌
View on GoogleI remember there used to be another eatery here.hmm ,must be long since i came around this area... Place have a big foot print. Looks spacious. Can hold more than 50 pax. Staffs were very friendly. Quite a cozy place. There don't seem to be any pricing for the food. Saw one for the drinks near the cashier.
