I stopped by Paradise Dynasty at Westgate for a birthday meal, and it felt like a nice choice for anyone who enjoys Chinese-style dishes. The atmosphere suited the occasion well, and it was a pleasant place to spend time with family. For me, it was a simple, enjoyable meal and a good spot to come back to for a relaxed celebration.

I came here for a meal with my mother and brother to celebrate my mother's birthday. My mum love chinese styled food so this restaurant will be really suitable for her. We ordered several dishes, including Stir-fried Shredded Pork, Stir-fried French Bean, Pork Dumplings in Chili, La Mian with Scallion Oil, Radish Pastry and a Vegetable and Pork Wonton Soup. The dishes were all quite delicious and there is nothing to complain about. Additionally, a complimentary Abalone Xiao Long Bao was provided as a Mother's Day special, with a minimum spending of $40 using a designated credit card. I would like to compliment on the services. Our order arrived quite promptly, and we were also pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary pastry adorned with the Chinese characters for "Happy Birthday.

After errands, decided to come in for dinner. Table for 2, we were ushered to a small table. Knowing our eating habits, we would order a variety of food and hence we requested for a bigger table that can accommodate our no. of dishes. Quickly we were seated at a table for 4 and scanned the QR code to order. I ordered: 1. Sweet Sour Pork - was flavourful - pork was tender - little coating of flour, tasted more meat - however tad too sweet for liking though 2. Original XLB - juicy - skin thin enough - would prefer the black vinegar to the white. White vinegar gives off a sharply sour taste unlike black, has tad sweetness, savory and notes of umami 3. La Mian with Prawn & Pork Dumpling in Chilli Vinaigrette (Dry) - had the options to cut up noodles upon ordering - noodles were nicely cooked which had its al-denteness - plump dumplings with good fillings - chilli vinaigrette had the decent level of spice which is not too overpowering but leaving behind slight numbness on the tongue 4. Iced Chestnut drink - too sweet, had requested for more ice to dilute 5. 2 glasses warm water

⭐ Must Order 📍 Poached Chicken 📍 Radish Pastry 📍 Snow Fungus Peach Dessert 👍 Good to Try 📍 Lava Bun (2 pcs) – good, especially if you like custard fillings. Warm, rich, and satisfying 📍 Spinach with Minced Garlic – simple, clean, and well-balanced 📍 Homemade Calamansi Drink – refreshing and pairs well with heavier dishes 📍 Glutinous Rice Ball Dessert – quite special, served hot with a smooth, comforting texture. Good for afternoon tea as it warms the stomach 🥟 First-Time Customer Recommendation 📍 8 Treasure Xiao Long Bao (8 flavours) – great for first-timers to try so you can figure out which flavours you personally like. 📍 Fresh Prawn Steamed Dumpling – the weakest dish. Quite underwhelming compared to the rest. 🔖 Table peanuts and wet wipes are chargeable. If you don’t use them, you can inform the counter during payment.

Paradise Dynasty has always been one of my family’s go-to Chinese chain restaurants in Singapore - the kind of place we return to when we want something comforting and reliable 🙂‍↔️ My must-order here is definitely their Signature Original Xiao Long Bao. The skin is delicate, the soup is flavourful, and it’s best eaten hot when it arrives at the table. I also really enjoy their Steamed Taro Xiao Long Bao, which is more of a dessert dish as the taro paste is sweet and ideal to end our meal off with :) Some of my other favourites include the Prawn and Pork Dumpling in Hot Chilli Vinaigrette, Vegetable and Pork Wonton in Signature Pork Bone Soup, and the La Mian with Pork Dumpling in Hot Chilli Vinaigrette. The hot chilli vinaigrette dishes are especially good if you like something with a bit of spice and tang — very appetising without being too heavy. The Scrambled Egg White with Fish and Conpoy is another dish I absolute LOVE. It’s a lil salty, has a nice runny texture, and best paired with rice... I'm salivating as I'm looking through my photos of this dish 😭 I also recently tried their special (limited edition) xiao long baos - specifically the Korean BBQ Hanwoo Beef Xiao Long Bao and Abalone Xiao Long Bao. Both were amazing! They felt a little more premium and indulgent, but still stayed true to what Paradise Dynasty does well: flavourful, soupy dumplings that hits the spot 🫶🏼
