Extremely disappointed with the food quality at the West Coast Plaza Toast Box outlet. The soft-boiled eggs were completely overcooked – the yolks were half-solidified, and the whites were rubbery and clumpy, far from the smooth, silky texture you’d expect from a proper soft-boiled egg. As seen in the photo, the eggs looked unappetizing and poorly prepared, almost as if they were just left in hot water without any timing or care. For a place known for local breakfast classics, this kind of inconsistency is frustrating. It’s not hard to get eggs right, especially when they’re a staple menu item. When even the basics are mishandled, it raises serious concerns about kitchen standards and staff training. We ordered 2 sets of the Kaya Toast (that came with 4 eggs). First batch was disappointing so we asked for a replacement. We were shocked that the second batch of eggs were served overcooked AGAIN. Total 8 eggs were ruined and we didn’t got to eat any of them. We won’t be returning to this outlet and hope Toast Box seriously re-evaluates their food prep and quality control.
View on GoogleWent to ask if they were preparing a kaya toast after waiting for 20 minutes only for the staff to shoo me away using his hands without even saying anything. I understand that F&B can be an overwhelming sector but if asking if you are preparing a toast after it was ordered 20 minutes ago leads to such a demeaning response perhaps this job isn’t meant for you. Anyways, I decided to heed his advice and not come here again.
View on Google30/10/2024 Had 2 coffee and kaya toast ($6.40), was normal. Cashier was quick and friendly. She collected payment and made coffee singlehandedly, much appreciated. Relatively big aircon dining area within the mall. Tables were cleared fast for customers to sit on.
View on GoogleI tried the roti with chicken curry, it’s pretty good. The roti is crispy, very flaky, which I like. The curry is really good! Very savoury, goes really well with the roti. The toast is good, soft boiled egg is alright. The chocolate cake I got wasn’t that great though, the cream isn’t good.
View on GoogleHad the laksa bundle. Not too bad. The carbo is mee tak mark ... laoshufen... soft and easy to eat. Mixed with the egg, the laksa is smooth and quite delicious. Blue pea lime is v sourish. Either wait for the ice to melt or add water. Cakes, very average. Usually we will have tea here. Tea taste thicker than fun toast upstairs. But fun toast environment cooler and cleaner. Toast Box has been renovated and it is cleaner now.
