I read good reviews about the roasted chicken that it is soft, tender and juicy, somewhat like Kenny Rogers. But it was real disappointment that mine came out dry and overcooked, definitely not juicy. Just the taste is good. The risotto is watery on the base, taste is ok. The waffle chicken is regular. The smoked chicken truffle carbonara is good. Overall the food is above average, but for that price, I expect it to be better. Ambience is good, in a nice HDB neighbourhood, soft music background, clean and new interior, and not too crowded on a PH when I patronized. Vegetarian options are indicated in menu.
View on GoogleJust found this place which I believe opened only in Jan 26 (Mistake - was informed end 24) Had the Truffle Carbonara, Cheese Baked Rice and Beef Bulgogi Don. Each item was about $14-$18 and though not cheap per se being in the neighbourhood, but items like the Cheese Baked Rice was done very well, much better than Swensens which has become too commercial. Thus, you get really burnt Cheese that had crisps by the side. The Truffle Carbonara had really nice bits of chicken, but we felt the sauce was too sour. Also had the latte and Butterscotch latte and the butterscotch coffee was really good. Guess its a coffee bar after all. Nice touch was the free flow of water, thus rest of my family who did not get any drinks could still have water alongside. Ambience wise, was really a nice cosy hang out in the neighbourhood. Went on a public holiday, so only two tables were having meals, half the place were customers using their laptops with only a drink in sight. Saw they had a sign discouraging study, thus quite certain it always has many customers hanging around with just once drink due to its cosiness. Service wise, think overall still alright, only thing was our stuff took awhile to come out, even though we were the only other table having our meal. But guess maybe that's why our Baked rice came out well done, maybe because of the time taken to do it up well. Was told reservations not taken for public holiday, but guess did not need any.
View on GoogleWe dropped by for a Sunday brunch and loved the airy vibes. Here’s the lowdown on what we ordered: 🥗 Portobello Salad: Super refreshing! The mushrooms had a nice tang to them, likely a balsamic marinade, that really woke up the palate. 🐟 Pan-Seared Salmon: The star was definitely the crispy skin topped with a generous squeeze of Mentaiko sauce that had been aburi- blown torch for that perfect hit of savoury umami. It came with a unique cheesy potato "muffin" side that was such a clever carb pairing! 🍝 Pesto Pasta with Pine Nuts: Honestly, this was a bit underwhelming for me. Our first plate was unfortunately too salty, though the staff were lovely and replaced it quickly. Even then, the flavour profile just didn't quite hit the mark and it's very watery. 🍵 Hojicha Berry Shake: This was such a standout! The toasted, earthy notes of the tea paired with the berry flavour in a shake format felt like a "nutritious breakfast" in a glass. 10/10 Definitely a unique spot in Clementi and quite nice for the residents here too! Overall, a solid spot for the vibes and the salmon, even if the pasta was a miss this time!
View on GoogleI think they have different menus, one for breakfast & one for lunch/dinner. It’s nice that they accept CDC. Their mains were great but what stole the show for me was their fried chicken hahahaha. Quiet & cozy place!
View on GoogleVisited Monday Coffee Bar for a meet-up with friends. I ordered the Mushroom Risotto and their signature Iced Butterscotch Latte. The risotto was creamy and had a strong mushroom flavour, while the latte had a rich coffee aroma from their Indian Beans paired well with the butterscotch but the intensity of the coffee is on the stronger side. There wasn’t many people when I visited and the ambiance was very calm and quiet, perfect for doing work and reading to wind down. Would definitely come down again to try their toasts the next round!
