I came across Tian Tian Vegetarian in Choa Chu Kang, Singapore after watching a food review on Facebook. After clearing customs at Woodlands, I drove all the way over for a quick lunch, as I had placed quite high expectations on the food. Unfortunately, the experience was a mixed one, with two dishes turning out to be rather disappointing. We ordered Sweet and Sour Abalone Mushroom Rice, Mushroom Burger Set, Vegetarian Bak Chor Noodles, and two portions of fried carrot cake for takeaway. The most disappointing dish was the Mushroom Burger Set. The bun felt like a low-quality type, the mushroom patty portion was too small, and the sauce was insufficient. At a price of $8.80, it didn’t feel worth the money at all. The Sweet and Sour Abalone Mushroom Rice was average. The portion was acceptable, but the sauce wasn’t the style I’m used to—it tasted somewhat unusual, perhaps just not to my preference. On a more positive note, the Vegetarian Bak Chor Noodles were good and satisfying. This was one of the better dishes of the meal. As for the fried carrot cake, it leaned more towards the sweet side, which is quite different compared to Ipoh’s savoury version. It may suit those who prefer a sweeter profile. In terms of environment, the experience could be improved. The cleanliness of the toilet needs serious attention by the local authorities (not to blame the hawkers around) and I felt that shouldn’t be the standard of toilet in Singapore!
View on GoogleServes good allium-free local and Western vegetarian fare, with eggless and vegan options available. Prices are reasonable too. I had a comforting and satisfying bowl of Laksa for breakfast at just $5 ~ perfect for beating the Monday blues.
View on GoogleNot strictly a vegetarian stall — it also serves cai fan with meat dishes & noodles. Located in the Taste Quest coffee shop at B1 of Keat Hong Shopping Centre Prices feel on the higher side. A simple breakfast of fried bee hoon with 2 vegetables & 1 chicken fillet came up to $6.10, which is quite expensive for a coffee shop setting. Variety is ok, but value may not be the strongest point.
View on GoogleBeing buying their vegetarian minced meat noodles since they started their stall. I like mine with lots of chilli and taste good. The soon kueh is also full of filling with thin skin which I like.
View on GoogleWide variety of vegetarian food. Tried most of the items and they taste good. Happy that they operate till 7.45pm so I could still eat vegetarian after work. Finally a good option for those staying in Choa Chu Kang.
