I ordered both dishes in small portions. The carrot cake was noticeably better than the fried kway teow, and overall the service was fairly quick. However, I witnessed something that left a poor impression. An auntie ahead of me had ordered a small portion, but the server prepared a large one instead. When the dish was ready, the server actually asked her to top up for the larger serving. It didn’t feel like generosity — more like an attempt to upsell after the fact. That incident is the main reason for my 2-star rating. The food itself is decent, but nothing exceptional.
View on GoogleMy plate of char kway teow was cold, which surprised me. Thankfully, it wasn't too oily. There was no wok hei, but they were generous with the Chinese sausage, which I would not have opted for. No cockles, but fish cake slices instead. Taste-wise, it was ordinary - sweet and a dry version. That it was room temperature cold instead of piping hot turned me off. The black carrot cake fared better - sweet with lots of chai poh. No char or wok hei either. Their chilli was also sweet with hae bee. I thought it would go better with nasi lemak. I've had much better black carrot cake, although I must say their white version looked good. It's highly unlikely I'll eat these two dishes again when I visit the hawker centre. The dishes looked better than they tasted. Pity as there isn't any good char kway teow or carrot cake in Bt Panjang.
View on GoogleOrdered their $5 white carrot cake for the first time and both of us really like it as it is one of the few nice and tasty white carrot cake with decent and generous egg serving in sg. Will definitely return for their carrot cake again. Highly recommended for carrot cake lovers l.
View on GoogleTried their prawn hokkien mee $8. Noodles is just nice, not mushy. Prawns are fresh and the squid too. Love the fried lard , I feel the chilli is not spicy enough so not very shiok in that aspect. No wok hei taste so 4.5 star. Will return again to try the other food although I saw a lady bought the char kuay tao that doesn't look too appetising... but will try their other dishes too. Service : not much interaction, maybe I was expecting them to be friendlier as they're the younger hawkers which i normally will try to support more. Maybe it's evening time so perhaps they're tired too. Waiting time : reasonable. I went to order a dessert and my noodles is ready.
View on GoogleCarrot cake is pretty good and affordable. Had the white one for only $3.50. Serving was quite generous. I didn't have high expectations at first so I didn't take a picture of it. Wish I did. Definitely worth it.
