I tried the dry Yong Tau Foo from Ubi Le Sheng at Senja Hawker Centre and was very impressed with the quality of their items. For $9.60, I got 10 pieces ($8.00) plus Chee Cheong Fun ($1.60), which is quite reasonable. The star of the show is undoubtedly the yong tau foo itself. All the pieces I chose were expertly cooked—the fried items remained crispy, and everything tasted fresh. The absolute must-try is their huge homemade fried meatball. It was flavourful, meaty, and had a fantastic texture that set it apart from the usual offerings. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by my choice of carbohydrate, the Chee Cheong Fun. I found the rice noodle rolls to be disappointingly soft, lacking the springy, chewy bite that makes good CCF so satisfying. Thankfully, the generous serving of sweet sauce and chilli did a decent job of distracting from the textural issue. Overall, this was still a very good and satisfying meal, thanks to the high quality of the yong tau foo. This is a stall I would definitely return to. Next time, I'll be pairing their excellent YTF with noodles or beef hoon instead, and I'm optimistic that could well be a 5-star experience.
View on GoogleThe owners were very kind! And patient. I love their service, hard to find these days! And most importantly is the food. Its fresh and self made. U can see them making the paste and etc. They have special items like big mushroom w paste, big meatballs, fried items are placed separately and crispy! I personally love their self made meat balls. Was really tasty and fresh. Even their Crabsticks have a Wanton skin alike wrapped around and tasted really good. Their chilli is my favourite too! Amazing lunch!
View on GoogleWas super hungry and came across this place. The guy at the place was so forthcoming with suggestions on what we can try. We went for the roasted chicken rice and fried wanton. Loved the taste of everything, even the soup! The wanton was big and juicy and very worth it too. Loved the way they served the chicken rice nicely too. Very worth the money. 3 thumbs up.
View on GoogleChanced upon this place and while googling for new food places to explore around my place. I have never eaten a dish like this so far, but it appealed to me as I like sesame oil chicken. Overall the taste is good. But I wished they use fresh chicken instead and the wood ear mushroom more tender.
View on GoogleOk some things I really like, some I don't. This place it's a stand alone store, which is cozy and quiet I like. Like the fact that they re-fried the fried stuffs and put separately. The fried tofu very nice, the instant noodles cooked just nice a bit al dente when you just started eating and then as you eat the texture softer, just nice. Don't like the Tau Kee, not sure is it not fried through enough of it's the quality, very rubbery hard can't bite through. The soup also a little bland for my liking.
