This is a very popular stall at Senja Hawker Centre, and the long queue during peak hours is a good sign. Having eaten here twice, I can say the popularity is well-deserved, especially for their braised duck. On both of my visits, the Braised Duck itself was the consistent star. It was beautifully cooked, wonderfully tender, and had soaked up all the flavour of the braising liquid. Where my experience differed was with the carb pairing. On my first visit, I had the Braised Duck Pumpkin Yam Rice Set Meal. While the rice was fragrant, I personally found the texture to be a bit too soft and mushy for my liking. The set came with other items like tofu and peanuts, which were all fine. On my second visit, I ordered a Quarter Duck with Dry Noodles, and this was a fantastic combination. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente—springy and firm—and the seasoning was delicious and savoury. This, for me, was the much better pairing. The service here is fast and efficient, so the queue moves quickly. A special mention also has to go to their chilli sauce, which is the sharp, vinegary kind that cuts through the richness of the braised duck perfectly. It's a solid 4-star meal, and I'd highly recommend getting the noodles.

Heng Gi’s braised duck is the kind of dish that brings back memories of old-school grandma homecooked food — rich, hearty, and full of comfort. The duck is tender and deeply infused with flavor, while the braising sauce carries that nostalgic balance of savory and herbal notes. The kway chye is equally impressive, well-braised till soft yet still holding its bite. Paired with their kway soup — light, aromatic, and superbly balanced — the meal ties together beautifully. This is easily one of the best braised duck and kway chap experiences you can find in the West, and perhaps even across Singapore. A true gem for anyone who appreciates authentic, soulful comfort food.

my go-to is the duck kuayteow with chilli. hands down the best I've ever tasted. super affordable too. I'm glad this stall exists. take note they're only open until early afternoon. idk why ppl are throwing shade at their services. the auntie and uncle's (and sometimes I guess sons?) attitudes have always been friendly and they actually remember their repeat customers' orders! I appreciate that.

I don’t take yellow noodles and ordered a kwayteow. They gave me a mix, and I went back to ask for a change. They insisted that I ordered wrongly and refused any request to change just the noodles. Terrible tonality so I just decided to let it go and eat. They record video and audio at the counter. And the stall owner came to speak to me and show me that I apparently ordered wrongly. Not sure if that’s supposed to make me feel better or was it to completely confirm that it’s my fault and their attitudes were warranted. Moving on to the food: It’s above average braised duck. Larger chunks, so you get to taste the duck, which might or might not be to your liking since it’s gamey. Not sure if it’s the sauce or the chili that’s really salty. Even after mixing, there’s some portions which is too salty. Overall would say food is decent, but not sure what kind of attitude/service they’re going for. That seems like a recurring issue looking at the other reviews anyway.

We ordered kuey zhap for 2 pax and added duck meat (not included in usual set), total was $15 and the portion was good. Agreed with the other reviews that it is indeed on the much saltier side, especially the taupok which soaked up all the sauce. However, all the meat were amazing! The duck meat was so tender and fats from the pork literally melts in your mouth.
