Had the noodles twice this week, Y26'Jun. I like the vinegar seasoning mix in the noodles and my noodles is saucy with extra vinegar. The liver is fresh and very tender. Their crispy lard and fried sol fish are also my highlights. Noodles al dente and not overly starchy. Felt thirsty after noodles/ soup, but it's ok! The 2 ladies at the counter are very friendly, and more importantly noodles are well cooked. I had the noodles from same shop 2 years ago when the food court first opened and the noodles was very bad I didn't finish my food. This week, I table-envied and took a chance to try the noodles and I am glad I did! The 2 ladies are a gem, hope they are well taken care of/ rewarded by the company!!
View on GoogleI'm a regular customer at this stall at Hawkers' Street, Bukit Panjang Plaza. The food quality and service here is consistently very good. And the staff here are always obligingly friendly. I highly recommend this stall. FYI it's a pork noodle joint and not a minced pork noodle joint. UPDATE OF 27 MARCH 2026 I was here this morning after a two week trip to Japan and I missed the pork noodle here and the excellent crew manning the stall. UPDATE OF 9 JUNE 2026 After two months in Australia, (my wife and I were craving for a pork noodle fix. We ordered the No.4 Pork Meatball Noodle Dry mee pok. While it was excellent as always, the tik po piece was much smaller than on 27 March 2026, when I was last here.
View on GoogleThe noodles were cooked just right! The chewy part was kept without becoming too hard. The crispy lards and dried fish brought the flavour to a next level. The only thing that I felt could be better was the amount of vinegar. It’s slightly overpowering. The staff of this branch were the most friendly ones. The two young ladies maintained their friendly tones despite they were overwhelmed by the number of orders.
View on GoogleFriday 10.45am, a few customers in front of me. A great pleasure to be served by a cheerful and friendly young lady. Polite interacting with customers, patiently taking and preparing orders. Good food, good attitude, good start to the day. Thumbs up!
View on GoogleWhen you approach a stall with the legacy and reputation of Tai Wah, the bar is set inherently high. This review reflects not just the quality of the dish, but whether it truly delivers an extraordinary experience worthy of its famous brand status and premium pricing. I tried the Signature Tai Wah Pork Noodles (Dry) along with a side of Meatball Soup. The execution of the ingredients was certainly top-tier. The pork slices, liver, dumplings, and that critical element, the fried sole fish, were all cooked well, showcasing fresh ingredients and expert preparation that delivered a nice balance of textures and flavours. In the soup, the meatballs were delightfully bouncy and well-seasoned, and the broth itself had a comforting depth, beautifully enhanced by bits of fried pork lard and seaweed. Crucially, the seasoning of the dry noodles was flavourful without being overwhelming. The noodles themselves were cooked well—they were satisfyingly al dente, absorbing the sauce effectively, but I prefer them just a slightly tad firmer (I know, it's a nitpick). The challenge lies in the final verdict. While this was an undeniably good bowl of bak chor mee—technically well executed and richly flavoured—it lacked the "je ne sais quoi" that justifies a high-expectation, high-price brand premium. It was a very good, classic rendition, but nothing truly out of the ordinary or innovative that set it significantly apart from other very good stalls across the island. The meal was satisfying, but it didn't provide the expected "wow" moment that seals a five-star rating and justifies the extra cost. Verdict: A spot that consistently delivers fresh ingredients and hearty, classic flavours. It’s a solid, reliable choice, but while it achieves well technically, it doesn't quite elevate the dish enough to meet the legendary expectations its brand and price tag create. Worth trying, but manage your expectations for the extraordinary.
