2026.7.24 Fri In a serendipitous manner, we chanced upon this restaurant on my way to check-in on a retreat at Montfort Center. Who would have imagined finding a restaurant on the grounds of a Catholic seminary? 🤔 All because we could not find a parking lot at Beauty World and missed the turning at Montfort. As it turns out, fresh fish is flown in on Tuesdays and Fridays. We were shown a tray of their air flown fish. So we tried one: cooked in 3 ways (sashimi style, pan-fried, and using the bones of the fish: fish soup). It come to almost $100 for the fish but we were wowed by the different creative ways eating this fish. Then there is the truffle angel hair with Hotate & ikura. It was very good and the chef was very generous with the truffle. We thoroughly enjoyed this meal. What a hidden gem ! There is a peaceful atmosphere to dining here, too. Different from Japanese zen atmosphere. A very genuinely friendly and kind atmosphere. Love that the owners, chefs and personnel are mostly welcoming Catholics and Protestants.

I had an incredible dining experience at Inori! The quality of the food is top-tier; every dish was beautifully presented and tasted incredibly fresh. From the melt-in-your-mouth sashimi to the perfectly seasoned rolls, you can really tell they use premium ingredients. What made the night even better was the service. The staff were attentive, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Japanese cuisine and a warm atmosphere!

We had a birthday dinner on Friday night. I booked for 6 on the day. The reservation was at 8pm at the earliest dinner slot. Its located in the premises of a church and the surroundings were very quiet till we entered the restaurant. It was boisterious but in a bad way cuz we had to shout to talk. The noise level is uncomfortable for us introverts, though it is just the noise from the talking of the patrons but the noise level is uncomfortable. Food was good. Yakitori were tender. Sashimi and oysters were sweet and fresh. Fried food were not oil but the portion of softshell crab is pathetic. All praised the meals except for the birthday boy, his inori don had too much sakura prawns. Service was relevant. I might not go back again for how noisy it is though. Unless i miss the food. Ikura chawamushi was sweet and fresh!

Hidden gem at Bukit Timah. Really good Japanese food. Located within the compounds of the Church of St Joseph (Bt.Timah). Went on a weekday evening (Wednesday) and it was quite crowded. Service staff was very attentive. The atmosphere is similar to a cafe. But its really cosy. Overall, good staff and great food!

Quiet and peaceful Japanese restaurant below St Joseph Church (Bukit Timah). Cam here for dinner with family. Liked the prompt service and good portion sizes here. The staff were also very friendly and played with my daughter while we ate. We really liked the sushi salad, unagi roll and tamago. Would definitely come back again to try their other menu offerings soon!
