The Chef's Place opened a month ago (22 April) and that's before the drink stall auntie sang praises of their block 233 branch. After a month, we tried almost every common coffeeshop western on their menu. Our favourites have to be the chicken dishes, normal fries and the tomato based pasta. Their style of fried rice resonates with me. They chop up bits of ham and egg into the rice mixture. Char grill and JWS once had this, so it was not a loss for me. Price point is roughly the same as the previous tenant. Not to be confused with Chef Recipe which I used to eat at Bishan.
View on GoogleThe unavailability of proper cutlery, particularly forks, makes dining on Western food a challenging task. Check the availability of proper cutlery before ordering.
View on Googlethe chicken chops, pork chops and sides are good and value for money
View on GoogleThe fried spring chicken is too dry. Curly fries are not crispy, more to hard due to over frying. I did not finish it. It should have been a 2.5 stars. The chefs are group of hardworking youngsters, hope they see this and do something. There are very established and long standing western food a few blocks away in coffee shops. Diners are spoilt for choice.
View on GoogleVery good western coffeeshop stall! Big portions for the price, quite popular among youngsters. Only draw back is their pager might be faulty. Not all and not always, just some. Their meal includes 2 sides, many to choose from!
