Despite the generally low reviews, I actually enjoyed my bowl of noodle. The noodle was al dente and the ingredients well executed except for the tipo dried fish which not only no longer crispy but it's outright hard to chew. Pretty disappointing as it was possibly the most expensive ingredient in the dish. And like most of its outlets, the soup here remains sub-standard, making me wonder why they just couldn't make this right the way they've improved the noodles to most of their franchisee outlets in recent years.

Overpriced and grumpy staff. Food is not worth its price. I stood at the stall waiting for my order and staff just ignored me.

I’ve tried the Bukit Panjang and Toa Payoh outlets, and I feel that the Bukit Gombak one tastes quite different, especially when it comes to the chilli and vinegar. The flavour at Gombak is much lighter and seems to lack fragrance. I personally prefer the noodles at Tai Wah because the thicker noodles go really well with their chilli. The combination of the noodle texture and the chilli makes it much more flavourful and satisfying.
