Ordered the large dry non-chilli mee tai mak (mouse tail noodles) with a bowl of pork soup which had sliced pork, pork balls, innards, liver, and minced pork for $6.50. The noodles were really good, the sauce on the mee tai mak was sweet and fragrant from the soy sauce, lard, and garlic, and I think there was also a hint of shallots. Very flavourful and comforting. The soup was also well done. It didn’t have that strong porky smell some pork soups can have, yet it was still rich and flavourful, and just a tad peppery. I did takeaway, so the liver had been sitting in the soup for a while and became a bit chewy, but I’m sure it would taste great if eaten there while still slightly pink and tender. Overall, really good and it reminded me of West Malaysia. The boss may look fierce at first, but he’s actually very friendly haha. Would recommend!
View on GoogleWe ordered the wet and dry versions of the small ($5) - kway teow soup and bee tai mak dry (no chilli). Their noodles is the Hokkien Mee yellow noodles, not mee pok or mee kia. There's also beehoon if you prefer. You will be asked if you prefer to have innards with your order. The bowls came with a dollop of very delicious fried pork lard bits and oil. A small option (with innards) gets you 2 pork balls, 3 slices of liver, 2 pieces of feng zhang (pig intestine), several pieces of sliced pork. The soup is decidedly porky (duh!), a delight for pork lovers. The intestines were chewy, but not tough and were cleaned well - no smell. The "powdery" liver was cooked really well - still soft and tender, but not bloody. The homemade pork balls have a good qq bite to them. I liked the no-chilli dry version - it's done Malaysian style with dark sauce and lard. I had actually ordered with chilli, but was good with the mistake as I enjoy trying various no-chilli flavours. The coffee shop where the stall is is about 400m from the Bukit Gombak MRT station. The block is along the road. I will go back one day to try the $6.50 Big option with chilli to see what they add on.
View on GoogleTried this nice Malaysia Pork Noodle. Ordered the soup version. Bee hoon texture is nice. Ingredients are fresh and the amount is generous. Soup is aromatic and tasty. Come with a touch of pork lards and fried garlics. Friendly owner. Reasonable pricing. Highly recommended.
View on GoogleI tried both the soup and dry versions of their pork noodles. Personally felt that it was quite similar - about 80% - to the Malaysia KL/Ipoh version pork noodles I had previously. The soup is really tasty and doesn't leave you feeling thirsty afterward. One thing I'd love to see is them adding some fried garlic with oil on the soup - think that'd elevate it even more. They were very generous with the pork lard, which was a big plus. If I get cravings for this style of pork noodles, I'd definitely be back.
View on GoogleMalaysia Pork Noodle is a concept by the owners and acquaintance of the wanton mee owners next door. They operate with the same kitchen and help each other. The pork noodle comes in two sizes ($5/$6.50) and whether you want dry or soup. You can opt not to have the innards in your bowl, to be replaced with other ingredients. We heard that they are just trying to see if this concept sells well here, even though there's a pig organs soup just a few stalls away. After being here for more than a year, I think they are doing alright. The taste is really porky and sumptuous for those who are familiar with Malaysia-style pork noodles. Their generous serving of fresh lard is so delicious too! Even the friendly looking Porky (named by yours truly) on the banner is happy that his sacrifice is not in vain.
