Wang Family Kitchen - this Korean family-run restaurant has been in operation for quite a number of years at Hillview Community Club, and its enduring presence thereat is testament to its no-fuss, no-nonsense, comfortingly delicious Korean meal sets served daily as a "Day Plate" and at a reasonable price. My wife and I have dined here on a number of occasions and we have always been satisfied with the place. As we sort of live "just across the road" in the Dairy Farm area, choosing this place for a Korean meal is a no-brainer. Service here is nice enough, and the dining ambience is comfortable. I recommend that you try this place for its home-cooked style Korean food, if you are in the Hillview area.
View on GoogleYummy food! it really feels like family restaurant, there are limited options for each day, 2 options are available on the date i visited, chicken soup and fried pork, we like chicken soup more, seems fixed price total 39.8 for 2 sets. Recommended! They will give a dessert (small waffle and one fruit) for each set.
View on GoogleVisited Wang Family Kitchen at Hillview CC for the first time and had a great experience! If it’s your first time, do note that there’s no physical menu – the dishes change daily, and you’ll need to check their Instagram for the day’s offerings. I thought that was a pretty unique and fun concept. The place was relatively crowded but still had plenty of seats available. The food was delicious, and it was nice that is a wide variety in each set. Staff were warm and friendly in explaining how it worked as well. Bonus: they accept CDC vouchers too!
View on GoogleRepeated visits for the hearty meals that feel like homecooked food in a cosy Korean home. Wide variety of banchan that comes in the set. Can check IG for daily menu options that are available. But some of the cups and and bowls felt sticky. Hope cleanliness can be improved. Sheltered parking available in basement of Hillview CC.
View on GoogleA friend brought me to this restaurant, and after being seated, I couldn’t find any menus. My friend explained that there was usually no menu because everyone eats the same thing. However, today was different—the staff came over and asked whether I preferred Kimchi Soup or Pork. Later, I noticed that the menu and prices were displayed on a TV screen outside the restaurant. My pork set included rice, soup, pork, and eight side dishes. And dessert was also served after the meal. The taste was alright, but the uniqueness of the dining experience won me over.
