Food is overall quite consistent with other Yakun outlets. This outlet offers more variety of food including cooked food. Quite limited indoor seating but if you go out through the back, there are many seats that are outdoor and quite well shaded. Service is efficient but can probably do with a little more warmth..

Visited Ya Kun at West Mall on 17 May 2026. This was my first time at this outlet, and compared to other Ya Kun outlets I have visited, this one was disappointing. I ordered 2 traditional sets with tea, but both cups of tea had different levels of sweetness, even though they were the same order. The drink standard was not consistent. I also ordered nasi lemak, but the ikan bilis was not crunchy and tasted like it had gone soft / exposed to air for too long. The outlet also did not feel well maintained. There was litter on the floor, but no one seemed to clear it during the time I was there. The condiment area also needs attention. There appeared to be only one shared set of light and dark sauce and pepper for all customers, so customers had to use it quickly and return it for others. The dark sauce bottle looked dirty, with stains that appeared possibly mouldy, which made me wonder whether it had been cleaned properly. This did not feel hygienic. After checking the reviews, it seems there are also quite a number of negative comments about this outlet. I hope the management will look into the cleanliness, food consistency, and condiment arrangement, as this outlet does not seem to match the usual standard I expect from Ya Kun.

Ya Kun West Mall has really taken “maximising floor space” to a whole new level with its recent renovation — going from a previously tight but still manageable seating arrangement to one that is now almost impossible to navigate! Some tables are so difficult to reach that other diners have to stand up just to let you pass. With customers carrying hot drinks and food through such a confined space, it feels like a spill, trip, or fall waiting to happen. On top of that, I waited around 20–30 minutes this morning for a simple order of toast and eggs. I live nearby and have been visiting this outlet for many years, but unfortunately, this will be my last visit for now. I hope Ya Kun will reconsider the current seating layout and improve the overall safety and experience for both staff and customers.

The soft boil egg was cold, not even warm or hot. staff talk as loud like market with vuglur language. staff in this outlet aren't friendly at all to customer. but talk among themselves very happily.we pay for the food,we deserve to have a good service. ya kun service and quality drop.

As a regular customer of Ya Kun Kaya Toast, a well-established brand with many outlets across Singapore, I was deeply disappointed with the packaging and presentation of my online food order from this West Mall outlet. The French toast and soft-boiled eggs were poorly packed, resulting in an unappealing and unappetizing meal.(which i didnt eat). For a brand of this caliber, the sub-standard packaging was a huge letdown and ruin my take away breakfast experience compared to my previous such orders from OTHER outlets. No plastic wrap over soft boil egg packaging. The soya sauce & pepper should be in seperate package? Bread not sliced into usual tri-angle or square shapes, instead was rolled with a plastic sheet and stuffed in the brown take away bag. I urge Ya Kun to take inspiration from competitors like FUN TOAST, who excel in delivering consistent quality and presentation for take-away orders. Please improve on the basics to maintain your reputation & customer satisfaction.
