Came on a Friday evening right after they opened and they were already busy with orders. We ordered the lamb chop ($16), sirloin with herb butter ($16), and ribeye steak with brown sauce ($20). The ribeye portion was quite generous for the price. If I were to guess, it was about 1/2 inch thick and roughly 150g, just to give an idea of the serving size. One thing I found unusual was that the ribeye came in several pieces instead of a single slab. The pieces varied in size and thickness, so the doneness wasn't very consistent. The thinner pieces were closer to well done, while the larger and thicker pieces were around medium. Felt a bit like I got the end cuts of a larger steak. Taste-wise, it was a straightforward pan-grilled steak. It didn't seem to be basted with butter, garlic, or herbs, so the beef flavour was fairly simple. Nothing wrong with that, just keep in mind that this is more of a hawker-style western steak rather than a restaurant-style one. To be fair, social media has been hyping it up as restaurant-quality western food, so it's probably best to manage expectations. Overall, I'd say it's slightly above average for a hawker western stall. What stands out most is the value-for-money. The portions are decent, the prices are reasonable, and the food is enjoyable. If you're looking for an affordable western meal, it's worth giving them a try. Based on what we had, I'd probably recommend trying the sirloin instead, as it appeared to be a thicker cut than the ribeye.

This western-style stall is tucked inside a neighbourhood hawker centre near our home🍽️. We used to dine here almost daily back when it was still undiscovered, and we were absolutely obsessed with their chicken nuggets. Honestly, the meat quality here stands worlds apart from ordinary hawker stalls. They only use premium-grade fresh meat with no shortcuts whatsoever. Later on, someone posted a viral TikTok about this shop, and now it is perpetually packed😮. As a beloved local hidden gem, timing is everything if you plan to visit. During lunch and dinner peak hours, especially on weekends, fitness enthusiasts from the surrounding neighbourhood will flock here for their meals. The queue can stretch up to nearly an hour most of the time. The owner and his son cook every single order fresh to order. They are extremely particular about quality. Even after gaining huge popularity, they never skimp on portion sizes nor rush their cooking. They stick firmly to crafting every meal with meticulous care, which explains the long waiting time⏳. On weekday evenings, we always make it a point to arrive before 6:15 PM. By 5:45 PM, the lengthy queue will already be formed. My all-time favourites here are their signature chicken nuggets, fried rice, and black pepper chicken chop — all incredibly delicious🤤. The meat is richly marinated and full of flavour, paired with a generous drizzle of savoury gravy. Even their side salad is thoughtfully prepared with a delightful house-made dressing, instead of just plain tossed greens. A hearty plate of black pepper chicken chop only costs 8 SGD, and it is genuinely worth every penny.

New Chef Western delivers solid, no-fuss Western food. We ordered the Lamb Chop and Lemon Chicken Chop, and both were well cooked and above average for the price. Each came with a generous portion of fries and corn. Just be prepared to wait a bit during busy times for the food and to find a table.

Very rare to get legit done-ness in kopi tiam Western. I think the steaks are definitely worth it. However my wife had pork chop comment that it was rather bland although the portion was big. Likely could be better with longer marination. Nevertheless, would be there to try other stuffs on its menu.

$16 for NZ Sirloin steak and a nice cut with medium cook. Super value. The chicken chop meat is tender and not dry. The chicken cutlet is crispy. Generous portion. Be prepare for a long queue during peak hours.
