Place was crowded , I entered and the Restaurant it's quite confined, server was doing her job well, is experienced lady. Our food was called upon Number displayed and was accurate as what was ordered. Self Service to the food collection. Coffee - do not taste good. Dough fritter costs $1.50 and is bigger than average size, comes in a paper bag for better holding as well as absorb some oil. Nice! Then comes the porridge. IT did have the porridge texture and color, as well as eggs freshly cracked(nice!) and sufficient ingredients, but the taste was just not there. IT did not have the fragrance of the pork meat in the porridge. Seems to miss something. I tasted better porridge and was yearning for that similar feeling but to my disappointment I did not get that vibe. Therefore I rate it only average taste. Together with fritter dough , it's filling. Same goes to the century eggs. There seems to be short of the century egg pungent, it was quite light smell. Taste was light version of what i've tasted... Pricing was reasonable, which is great. I Did not try the others though. They have a wide varieties of food , which is nice. Prepare for long lunch queue as well as looking for seats. They have both inside as well as outside seats available with stools. Do not expect cooling aircon.

Porridge is very nice and comforting. Ingredients inside my $6 porridge is quite plentiful. Frog meat is tender and flavourful. All in all, I think its worth a try. Will definitely try again.

To an average singaporean, the words ‘porridge’ and ‘$7.50’ might be a little shocking. But here, the porridge was packed full of ingredients. My mom and i got a porridge, a side and a youtiao each, you might think, ezpz right? No! 😂 we were such deep food coma after our meal if you placed a bed we could be snoring in seconds. The porridge was really comforting and so so hot, which meant that it was still warm even after some time under the cold air conditioning. The claypot liver was enjoyable, no weird tastes or smells and the fried intestine was lowkey giving taiwanese fried chicken in taste. The youtiao was warm and crispy. The ingredients all seemed really fresh and the whole meal was satisfying. The food came really quickly as well. There were 11 orders ahead of us when we ordered but we got our food in like ten minutes. I usually get anxious whenever i visit these kind of fast paced, busy ahh shops, worried that the staff member might rush me for my order, but everyone here was really patient and nice. This was a really pleasant experience! No wonder they’re so famous, well deserved!

Delicious bowl of fish porridge that I had. There were plentiful of fish slices. The fish was flavourful - clearly cooked in lightly salted broth prior. The porridge is more towards the Cantonese style. Quite soft and broken down and you can only see some grains. I find it not consistent though. Some days it is saltier and some days more bland. I would prefer it even more soft and broken down like Chai Chee pork porridge. It doesn’t come with you tiao by default unlike other porridge places. You’ll have to add with additional cost. Red chili wasn’t available when I was there. The waiting time isn’t very long. During weekend peak lunch hour, I waited for 10-15min even though there were 20 numbers ahead of me. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. It was full indoors so I had to sit outside but it wasn’t too warm because there were large fans, which also helped to cool down my porridge quickly for consumption. I love that you can customise your own porridge.
