Authentic South and North Indian food! We had an incredible meal here. The onion thosai was delicious, and the chicken tikka was amazingly juicy and tender. The garlic naan paired perfectly with the butter chicken, which was so smooth and flavorful! The mutton in the biryani was cooked to perfection—tender and soft—and the chicken lollipops were delightfully crispy. We finished off with the apam and payasam for dessert, both of which were fantastic. Highly recommended!

We had dinner here and overall, it was an alright experience. The mutton biryani I ordered was good. Have to say, Sakunthala's have been very consistent with their Biryani. The fish curry we ordered was also really delicious. My Mum ate the lemon thinking it was a potato... One aspect that has to be improved on is the competency of the staff. Some of them were pretty damn blur. Messing up our order by completely missing out on one or two dishes. There is a really nice large artwork in the restaurant which I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of.

We came on a weekday for late lunch. The place was bustling and operating at close to full capacity. We ordered the cauliflower with potato and their small fish head curry with 2 briyani rice to share(3person). Their fish head curry has a hint of sourness from the tomato added. They even had chunks of lemon in it in case u like it really sour. Service is prompt and staffs are all attentive. Tastewise, their food is above average. Will visit them again. Recommended

My family and I had an outstanding dining experience at Sakunthala's Restaurant, Yishun From the moment we arrived until the time we left, we experienced exceptional hospitality, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere that truly reflected the restaurant's commitment to customer satisfaction. A very special mention goes to Mr. Murali, the manager, who truly went above and beyond to ensure that our visit was comfortable and enjoyable. My father was in a wheelchair, and Mr. Murali immediately took the initiative to accommodate his needs. He thoughtfully arranged the seating to make it easily accessible and ensured that my father was comfortable throughout our meal. It was evident that he genuinely cared about our family's experience, and his kindness went well beyond what would normally be expected. That level of attentiveness and compassion is something you don't come across very often. Mr. Murali also made it a point to regularly check on our table, ensuring that everything was in order and that all our dishes were served promptly. He was attentive without being intrusive, making us feel welcomed and well looked after throughout the entire meal. The food itself was absolutely delicious. Every dish was packed with authentic flavours, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. The quality of the food was excellent, and every member of my family thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It is clear that the restaurant takes great pride not only in the food they serve but also in delivering a memorable dining experience. What impressed me the most was that the team didn't just provide good customer service—they went beyond the scope of their duties to make sure our family, especially my father, felt comfortable, respected, and cared for. I would like to make a formal complaint regarding my dining experience at Sakunthala, Yishun, on 18 July 2026. My mother, my sister, and I were having dinner when, halfway through our meal, we discovered a strand of hair in one of the dishes. I have attached a photo as evidence. We were extremely disappointed and concerned, as this reflects poor food hygiene standards. Finding hair in our food is unacceptable and has caused us to lose confidence in the hygiene and quality of your restaurant. We immediately informed your staff about the incident. While the two staff members who attended to us apologised, the staff member who prepared the food did not come forward to apologise or explain the situation. We felt that the issue was not handled professionally or with the seriousness it deserved. In addition, we were only offered a $6.54 discount as compensation. We do not believe this was an appropriate resolution considering the unhygienic nature of the incident and the negative dining experience it caused. We hope that this matter will be taken seriously. We would appreciate a proper investigation into the incident, a review of your food preparation and hygiene standards, and a more appropriate resolution. We look forward to your response and to understanding what steps will be taken to prevent such incidents from happening again.
