Hey… the food is great for sure. But what’s up with your xiao cai. 小菜. Always out of stock at 7pm. Is it really hard to prepare? I really hope you take a look into this and make it always available because not only the price increase from $2.50 to $6… it’s not always available and limited stock. At one point I probably stop visiting… But the staff service kinda good. For real. Enjoy yourself everyone!
View on GoogleThe egg fried rice was the highlight of the meal. It had a distinct eggy aroma and flavour, very much in the signature Din Tai Fung style. Rich, fragrant, and well-executed, it is definitely a dish I would recommend. The main disappointment was the xiao long bao. It arrived only lukewarm, and I am not sure if that was intentional. The lower temperature made it easier to eat, I felt that some of the flavour and overall enjoyment were lost. It would likely have tasted better if served hotter. Overall, I find Din Tai Fung’s food to be very “generic” or “SOP” based. The dishes are generally well-made, but not particularly bold or intense in flavour. That said, the food tastes relatively healthy and not overly heavy in seasoning. Personally, I would recommend the egg fried rice as the must-order dish. The side dish selection feels somewhat limited, with most of it being variations of buns and dumplings.
View on GoogleTried Din Tai Fung and as usual the food was tasty and consistent. Ordered the shrimp fried rice, xiao long bao and pea sprouts, all delicious and freshly cooked. You can also request less salt which is a nice option. Usually there is a queue during lunch or dinner peak hours so be prepared to wait a bit. The environment is clean, comfortable and suitable for families or small gatherings.
View on GoogleCome many times and I was rejected for requesting the Dan Dan noodle to be served together with the steamed dumplings. It cannot be arranged. Cos it is done by seperate kitchen. Did I just came to one restaurant? With the choices of restaurants and service that be provided, it is a terrible reply from a working staff. The time I walk in for lunch is 3pm and is not a busy time frame.
View on GoogleSummary: Fried rice: will opt for Wok Hey anytime. Xiao Long Bao: prefer hot than lukewarm. Dumplings: personal preference, I don’t like it a bit. Soup: do yourself a favour and fly to Taiwan. This review is for this specific branch only.
