This unassuming American-themed casual dining spot serves up the heartiest nostalgic favourites & alcohol, AND is CDC-friendly with no service charge !! I had their Sausage Platter ($19.50), which had well-seasoned chicken, pork sausage & beef hot dogs with onions and fries. Pretty addictive — sausages weren’t overly salty, & fries had just the right crisp. Fried Brussel Sprouts ($12.50) had bacon bits dressed in sriracha honey mayo. Portion size looked a bit small, but taste-wise, nothing to fault. Cheesesteak Sandwich ($23) had thinly sliced beef rump, melted cheddar, sautéed onions & green pepper in savoury homemade brown sauce, packed into warm, crispy toasted ciabatta with mildly spicy Cajun fries. Tender, umami, & so yummy. Thick Lamb Chops ($29) was 450g, grilled medium doneness, with mushroom cream sauce, tangy mint sauce (my friend liked this as it helped cut through the gaminess) & baked beans. Better eaten fast — it hardened a bit in the cold aircon :”) Insane New Orleans Bread Pudding ($11.50) had bread loaf, milk, vanilla extract, spices & tequila sauce — this is sweet, warm & dense without feeling jelak. Couldn’t taste the tequila, but insanely addictive for sure. Warm Banana Cake w Rocky Road Ice Cream is homemade with salted caramel, vanilla ice cream, marshmallow & toasted almond. Loved the warm-cold contrast and prominent banana flavour !! Free water provided; coffee, tea, beers & cocktails available too! Honestly, dishes are pretty reasonably priced for the quality, & this is a spot I’d consider if I’m in the area :)
View on GoogleNice little spot for brunch if you’re in the neighbourhood. They make a decent cappuccino, and the breakfast platter allows you to mix and match your favorite items. Perfect size for sharing with a friend. Yum!
View on GoogleI had a wonderful time at Bernie's! The food was delicious and clearly prepared with care. The ambience was cosy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The place was clean and tidy, which added to the overall comfort. The service was also excellent. The staff were efficient and attentive, making the experience smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food in a warm setting!
View on GoogleThis place is truly a hidden gem in the north. We really liked how they offered a DIY breakfast platter in their menu so we can just choose what we like. Coffee was great. Food was good. The walkway is also big enough so it doesn’t feel so claustrophobic for the outside seating area when the public walks by. (A plus point for dog owners.) Only downside is the shortage of parking space nearby but thankfully there’s a carpark a short walk away (at Springleaf park). Overall lovely place! We will definitely be back. 😊
View on GoogleWe’ve been here a couple of times for dinner, but tried the refreshed brunch menu today. Ordered the Brunch Platter for two, and put together a DIY brunch plate for our toddler. Food was solid and the coffee was decent. The only letdown was the avocado, which wasn’t ripe and a bit hard to enjoy. The atmosphere was also easy and relaxed. Kudos to the team!
