This stall only selling YTF (those can’t choose one). One portion is $7, have fish ball, fried tofu, silken tofu, bitter grout, brinjal, lady finger, tau kee, tau pok, fried dumpling & kang kong. Taste is slightly to the salty side, but still manageable. It’s dried one, not in soup. The bean sauce they give is great eaten with rice ($0.70). Can give them a try if you have not eaten this kind of YTF before. It’s a staple meal people might walk in for takeaway for families.
View on Google928 Ngee Fou (Hakka) Ampang Yong Tou Fu is located along Upper Thomson Road. I ordered a plate of single pax mixed Yong Tou Fu for $7. I find the overall taste is okay just that some of the Tou Fu a bit hard and the bitter gourd too a bit raw. The gravy and the chilly sauce is alright.
View on GoogleFirst time visiting 928 Ngee Fou Ampang Yong Tau Foo on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch with my mum and helper, after seeing many positive reviews online. We ordered the standard set, which was convenient as there was no need to spend time choosing individual items. In total, we paid $22.40 for a 3-pax set with two bowls of rice, which i felt quite pricey. Average 1 person costs abt $7 plus. The set came with kang kong, which was fresh and nicely done. However, the yong tau foo itself was quite disappointing. Most items were on the salty side and had very little fish paste. 2 pieces of fishballs were so tiny, same size as the 2 pieces of quail eggs. The three “pork” dumplings were especially underwhelming — we couldn’t find any pork filling inside. The bitter gourd pieces also seemed quite old and were tough to chew. Overall, the experience didn’t quite live up to expectations, and unfortunately, we don’t think we’ll be returning.
View on GoogleMy go-to place for Ampang Yong Tau Foo. No frills, just tell them how many pax and they will prepare. I added a wonton soup which was delicious as well. The ace of this dish is the sauce they pour over the ingredients. The wonton was packed full of meat fillings. Place was maxed out at lunchtimes and parking can be hard to find.
View on Google$21 for 3 person YTF is pretty pricey, considering that it doesn’t taste good too. The tofu had a plastic taste and the vegetables felt raw… had high expectations but was disappointed. The gravy was watery and there’s not much taste.
