One of the better Hakka Ampang Yong Tau Foo along the stretch of Upper Thomson. The portion for 1 is big and cost $8 per plate. You can even select the type of Yong Tau Foo that you like instead of the default type. The Yong Tau Foo is fresh and savoury with the sauce.
View on GoogleShitty service and attitude, give you the number of sets of utensils and sauces based on what you ordered despite having more people at the table. Chopsticks also put wrong sides on the table. Ytf sauce is damn salty and pricier compared to the corner famous shop. Went over to try the corner shop and found it way more delicious and slightly more affordable than this shop. Highly not recommended to eat at.
View on GoogleI used to enjoy coming here. And I don’t usually give such ratings. But did the food get saltier when the whole country is moving towards a lower-sodium health strategy? I thought it was just me and the 1-person Yong Tau Fu meal @ $8, so I bravely ordered another 1-person Kway Chap meal @ $6 from the neighbouring stall. The saltiness level for that was out of this world. And no hot coffee (or hot drinks for that matter) when I wanted one (all cold beverages only). $14 poorer and I now worry for my blood pressure. Looking for water now….don’t think the owners read this anyway.
View on GoogleTried the Hakka Yong Tau Foo and picked a mix of fried items and vegetables. The fried pieces were freshly fried and tasted good, while the vegetables were simple but decent. The sauce was a little salty for my taste, so I would probably ask for less sauce next time. Still a satisfying and comforting meal overall.
View on GoogleWe ordered braised duck with yam rice and yong tow foo for 2x. Total $39 but portion is big. Duck is not bad .... well cut, soft and tender. Yong tow foo is good ... better than expected. It's crispy, sauce tastes good. Shop is well light, clean and well ventilated.
