Best fish soup ever. I honestly keep coming back here even though I stay about 1.5 hours away, which already shows how much I like it. It’s not just a once-in-a-while kind of place for me, it’s somewhere I’ll actively plan a trip for. What really stands out is the soup itself. It has this natural, clean sweetness that you don’t really find in many other fish soups. It doesn’t taste overly salty or heavy, but still feels really flavourful and comforting at the same time. Every spoonful just feels very soothing and well-balanced, and you can tell it’s made with care. The fish is consistently fresh and tender, which makes a big difference. No unpleasant fishy taste, just soft, clean bites that go really well with the soup. The fried egg is also a highlight for me—it adds this extra layer of richness that makes the whole bowl even more satisfying. It’s such a simple addition but it really works. Queues can get long, but I never really mind it. I’ve queued multiple times before and I’d still happily do it again without complaining. It’s one of those places where the wait feels worth it once you finally get your bowl. I’d definitely continue coming back whenever I’m craving a really good, comforting fish soup.

First time here and just lucky to chance upon this long q store. Sliced fish is very fresh and the soup is nice. Broth with milk taste better. The chili sauce is very special and delicious too. But will not travel far specifically for this. If you around the area can go try.

update as of 13 april 2026: back in two months and saw that there is a price increase 😵‍💫 increasing sooner than my salary~ anyway asked the aunty for more chili and she only allowed 2 packets (anything more they charge extra) a bit unnecessary imo. update as of 10 feb 2026: i got the big 9$ bowl and the soup was not enough - it was so dry towards the end. paiseh to go ask for more soup. uncle please give more soup 🙏 long queue during dinner time (6pm ish) on weekdays. come after 2pm on weekdays for shorter queues. got the fish portion of mixed fish with milk for 9$ - just fish and cabbage. comes in big fish slices. added fried egg floss for 1.50$. do not recommend the fish popcorn, its just for the crunchy texture i guess. yam rice is pretty fragrant. its a bit expensive for hawker frills but i guess i would crawl back again. btw not amazed by their homemade chili, its on the tangy side. reccommend to come after 7pm on weekdays if you don’t want to waste time queuing.

One of best fish soups in the North. The long queues in the mornings even before the shop is open attests to the popularity of this fish soup. White fish is sliced thick and large, and fried fish is chunky, both very fresh. I prefer the milky soup with more chinese wine, and usually go for the dual fish combo. I like to order a side of ikan bilis to add in to the soup gradually to alter the taste of the soup more. Their orange chilli dip is spicy and addictive.

This fish soup stall is above average but certainly overhyped or reviewed. I opt for the "no milk" added as I believe that authentic fish soup would not need milk to enhance it's soup flavour. Without the milk, the soup was bit blend and lack of rich fish or bone/ cartilage flavour. The non-fried sliced fish were not a firm as expected. However, the side order fried egg floss and additional bitter gourd were worth the dollars spent. Queue was pretty long but clears fast. In conclusion, the stall "can eat" if you are in Yishun area but there are better ones in other parts of Singapore.
