I came here with my wife to attend her ex‑colleague’s Muslim wedding. We took the free shuttle bus from Yishun MRT station and arrived at the event hall in good time for the ceremony. This is not my first visit to Orchid Country Club. Previously, I dined twice at Royal Palm restaurant with my grassroots friends during annual events, and once at Ban Heng restaurant with my siblings to celebrate my mother’s birthday with an à la carte buffet. Both restaurants left a very good impression on me.||I noticed that the NTUC FairPrice supermarket has moved out, likely because few people came here to shop. I also observed solar panels covering the roofs of the buildings, generating clean energy to power the chalets and facilities. The wedding was held at the Emerald Suite, the event hall on the second floor. It is a popular venue for weddings, banquets, and corporate events, offering an intimate yet elegant setting with views of the golf course and Lower Seletar Reservoir. I recall attending my company’s annual dinner here once as well.||Today marks Singapore’s 61st birthday, and the couple’s choice to hold their wedding on this day shows their pride in linking their union with the nation’s celebration. Truly, the fate of the individual is inseparable from the fate of the nation — national prosperity or decline touches every life.||I enjoyed the sumptuous food spread and the lively kompang drum performance. The bride and groom were joined by many Chinese and Indian colleagues, reflecting our spirit of unity. Regardless of race, language, or religion, we celebrate together as one people. Orchid Country Club provided a fitting backdrop with its amenable facilities.||Wishing the couple a blissful and happy marriage!
View on GoogleAs a parent, I really enjoyed visiting Orchid Country Club with my family. The environment is peaceful, spacious and well-maintained, making it a great place to relax and spend quality time together. There are many facilities available, and the overall atmosphere feels very comfortable and family-friendly. What I appreciated most was how the club offers activities suitable for both adults and children, so everyone has something to enjoy. The staff were polite and helpful, and the surroundings were clean and pleasant throughout our visit. Overall, it’s a wonderful place for family gatherings, short getaways or simply a relaxing weekend outing.
View on GoogleThis hotel seems to struggle with a cockroach infestation, I am surprised no other reviews mention this. We stayed at this hotel in two periods in May 2026. Both periods and in different rooms we saw large roaches. In the first period, we stayed on the first floor and found a larger American roach in our room. Since tropical locations have higher likelihood we thought this was a one-off and decided to continue our stay. The second period we had requested and gotten a room on the 4th floor in hopes of reduced chance of a unexpected visitor. But still we saw one again... On our first night after coming back to the hotel. Immediately after we decided to checkout and instead find a new hotel. I don't think it is worth staying in a seemingly infested hotel. After some back and forth with the reception, the hotel finally agreed to a refund for the night we hadn't stayed. They offered to switch our rooms, but seeing that we had seen roaches in multiple rooms already I doubt it would help. The hotel rooms and it is interior is a bit dated, even for a 4-star, and it seems that this likely is a root for its issues. We chose this hotel due to its closeness to Yishiun - however after our experience at this hotel we instead chose a hotel closer to city center, where pricing is similar and room standards much better. Luckily Singapore have many options. Two stars since they at least gave us a refund. Was a larger discussion to get there...
View on GoogleBecause of the HIP (Home Improvement Programme) for our HDB flat, we booked a room there for about 2 weeks. I like the rooms there. Nice view from my balcony, and comfortable bedding. Amenities were also good. There’s a FairPrice within walking distance within the country club. Automated car wash services are there in the event where you lazy take your car to some fuel station to wash. Shuttle bus services from Yishun MRT are also available, which makes getting from the MRT to the country club a lot easier and convenient. Overall good stay and recommended if you’re willing to spend $300+ (or $200+ for HIP programme promotion).
View on GoogleLocated in Yishun area, very green surroundings, large compound housing various amenities including swimming pools, 2 restaurants, golf course, pre-school etc., It appears to be a colonial style structure, with very spacious rooms and comfortable beds.
