I don't usually provide negative feedback unless warranted. Check my reviews. I was a customer of Mari Mari, back even when they were at Blk 182, Woodlands St 13/St 11. They were still pretty good. Things have taken a turn for the worse recently. Now, I feel that potential customers should know where (NOT) to spend your money. In short, don't eat at Mari Mari, unless you like to waste your hard-earned money and have horrible time with family and friends. This food eatablishment simply just don't have the chef and/or people skills to make your meal experience a good one. Our CNY eve dinner was totally ruined today (16 Feb). The soon hock fish was so over-fried (too much fire and for too long a duration) and dry, that fish lovers among us at the table tried to consume but had to give up trying to eat the fish. This dish is something that even the most novice zhi char chef should never mess up this bad. A feedback to the male boss resulted in a ”会注意” response with no service recovery whatsoever. None. It was totally unacceptable for a F&B service on a festive day, or any day for that matter. Seriously, it was horrible. Please, do yourself a favour. Avoid at all cost. That poor fish - died in vain. The elderly folks at the table were displeased with the fish. Again, to provide a chance for recovery of service, I asked for a token discount off the bill. I don't expect a full refund of the fish, since we sort of ate some of it to discover how horrible it was. The owner guy laughed like it was a joke. Novestine, it was never about the money, it was about recovering the experience and make it a better outcome for both parties. It was the attitude that was repulsive. Sorry bro, that's not how you do business.

First time testing out Mari Mari Seafood here. Overall i would say mostly excellent. Good service and food was great overall. But I'm guessing the kitchen staff was overwhelmed by orders. Food comes out slow. Also sensed some sorta favouritism with the boss there. I let it slide as they were probably friends or relatives. Food ordered. Sweet n Sour Seabass 10/10 Baby Squid 8/10 ( kinda little amount for price charged. But tastes good) Tofu Claypot 6/10 ( Initially looks plain tasted bland, almost like no oyster sauce. Asked them to take back and fix it. 8/10 after) Fresh Oysters 9/10 ( Really taste the freshness) Chilli Crab 8/10 ( Crabs size were awesome. Fresh crabs. U can taste it. Only problem is its more to the sweet side. Would be nicer if spicier a bit.) Would i come back again? Yeah definitely. Hopefully they stabilised kitchen and fixed the chilli crab. Needs 🌶 🌶

We visited on Chinese New Year night and ordered a few dishes. Most of the food was fine, although the Salted Egg Sotong was quite chewy. At payment, we were asked if we had been informed about a $10 surcharge. We were not told beforehand, and if we had known, we might not have ordered from them. The cashier said she would waive the surcharge, but it was still keyed into the bill. When we asked, she said it was not charged. I’m fine with festive surcharges, but customers should be informed clearly in advance. There was no need to say it was waived if it was still added to the bill.

Contacted Novestine via Whatsapp and he prepared the menu for us based on our budget. He was very thoughtful and i did not regret leaving the choice to him. He was honest and said that as there were only 4 of us, there would have been too much food if he gave me a big fish and so he reduced the size. We had fish maw soup with baby abalone to start and this was one of my faves. It was not starchy. Even the abalone was yummy and tender. Their signature flying noodles was packed with flavour. Pomfret was super fresh and the scallops, smothered in garlic was awesome! Another favourite dish for me. By the time the crab came, we were so full! Still we stuffed our faces. The crab was plump with meat and sweet! Sauce was a little on the sweet side and not spicy. I would have preferred it spicier. Overall, a really finger licking good meal and Ethan was very friendly too. He made sure we saw our crab before it, erhm, made its sacrifice for our meal . Will definitely be back for more. Note to non- smokers: sit further away from the shop and nearer to the caifan shop next time as smokers kept going to where we were seated. It was quite unpleasant to have folks smoking when we were eating. But this has nothing to do with mari mari! In fact, their guys smoked far far away from the kopitiam!
