This place used to be much better. The food, service, and overall dining experience were more enjoyable in the past. These days, the service feels much less attentive. You’re handed a slip of paper to fill in your own order, and some of the forms don’t even have table numbers printed on them, which just adds unnecessary inconvenience. The claypot rice was decent, but the dining experience could have been handled better. We were told to stir the sauce into the rice, yet no paper napkin, cloth, or pot holder was provided to hold the hot claypot. As a result, the pot kept sliding around while we were trying to mix everything together. It seems like a small detail, but it makes a difference to the overall experience. The staff also came across as rather indifferent. There wasn’t much initiative to assist, and basic items like tissues weren’t provided unless we asked. It felt like the attention to customer service has slipped compared to before. The food is still acceptable, but the service and overall experience no longer match what this place used to offer. I hope the management pays more attention to these little details, as they are what make customers want to return
View on GoogleWhat a pleasant surprise! We walked in because the restaurant was very crowded, and now I understand why. We ordered the Traditional Claypot Rice, Lala Bee Hoon and Steamed Prawn Egg. Every dish was delicious. The claypot rice was fragrant and flavourful, with a nice smoky aroma and crispy rice at the bottom. The lala bee hoon was rich and comforting, while the steamed prawn egg was silky smooth with fresh, juicy prawns. What I like most is that the food is suitable for all ages, especially elderly parents. The dishes are not overly heavy, and the steamed egg and claypot rice are easy for seniors to enjoy. I enjoyed it so much that I will definitely be bringing my parents here next time. The only reason I gave 3 stars for atmosphere is that it was quite hot inside the restaurant. However, the food more than made up for it. Overall, the food was excellent and definitely worth the visit. Highly recommended!
View on GoogleTHE BEST THING HERE IS THE SALTED EGG BITTERGOURD everything else pales in comparison I'm not even kidding. I've never seen this dish elsewhere, it's so unique and the taste is really chef's kiss 😮💨 ok the sweet & sour pork and claypot curry fish head were pretty good too! The place got crowded on a weekend dinnertime so come early to ensure you get a spot, or you can call them to make reservation.
View on GoogleA rather unassuming eatery serving good claypot rice. Ordered the smallest portion of traditional claypot rice and it was sufficient for two persons. The portion included sizable chunks of chicken, chinese sausage, bits of salted fish and vegetables. The chicken tasted fresh and juicy and the rice was flavorful and tasty. The star of the dish was however the scorched rice - the crispy and charred rice at the bottom of the pot. This was not burnt and slightly charred reflecting the good experience of the cook to handle this dish to perfection. Worth a visit if you yearn for a good claypot rice
View on GoogleI’m glad I gave this spot a try! While the claypot rice was supposed to be the star of the show, my favourite was the salted egg bitter gourd, perfectly coated in a rich, savory sauce. The crispy beancurd was another fun surprise—uncannily tasting just like McDonald’s chicken nuggets at first bite. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the vicinity.
