Ok I’m disappointed I drove all the way to Chomp Chomp to try this yong Tau Foo just because I saw it on Instagram and the specialty is the fishballs, handmade fully with fish meat. The fishballs is bouncy and it’s bigger than the typical fishball outside, there is one that’s a meatball. But one of my favourite ingredients, the stuffed eggplant is so poorly cooked and it’s sliced in such a small piece 😅 Laksa gravy is not available and it’s a Sunday afternoon. They accept paynow and paywave. Not sure if I’ll ever make the trip down again 😞

Came here on a weekday for lunch at around 12pm and it was packed!! There were not a lot of seats and the place was filled. We waited for about 15 mins before we got a seat. Once we chose the food it was about 10min wait for the food to be served. Would be better to come after 1pm cause when we were done, the place was quite empty. We ordered Maggie mee dry and a Beehoon dry with assorted Beehoon. Both bowls were a total for ($15). Our fav were the fishball and teochew meat ball. The fish ball was huge and very springy. The yellow fish tall meat was really delicious and savory. One of the best handmade fishball I've had!! The brinjal with fish meat was also really good. The rest were average. Would not recommend ordering dry Beehoon with chilli as the Beehoon became very dry after soaking up all the chilli and not appetizing at all. Will be back just for the fishball!!

Sandai Yong Tau Fu delivers a satisfying meal with their fresh, handmade items. The Teochew meatball stood out as a highlight — a unique addition not commonly found elsewhere, with a well-balanced blend of fish and pork that gave it great texture and flavor. The fishballs were impressively large and had a firm, bouncy bite. Despite visiting after the usual lunch rush, the stall was still busy with a steady stream of customers, which speaks to its popularity. However, the lack of manpower was noticeable — some tables were not cleared promptly, and the condiments area appeared a little untidy. With better upkeep, this would easily be a top-tier experience. Nonetheless, it is still a spot worth supporting, especially given the quality and affordability of the food in today’s local F&B scene.

The quality of YTF is generally good and value for money, with a nostalgic taste that keeps us coming back. There was quite a long wait for our food, but we understand this was during peak lunch hours. That said, this is the second time we have ordered takeaway and experienced issues with order accuracy. Unfortunately, we only realised the mistakes after reaching home, as it wasn’t practical to check during the lunch rush. We ordered one portion of soup bee hoon noodles, but it arrived with the entire bowl drenched in chilli, along with missing ingredient and another added unexpectedly. We decided to share this feedback this round in hopes that order fulfilment can be improved in the future, as these inconsistencies do affect the overall experience.

The handmade fishballs and meatballs are really nice and bouncy, other factory made items can skip. Noodles portion is small, fried items became too oily, soup is nice but also has a layer of oil. The tables can be quite a squeeze as we ordered 3 dry + 1 soup, total of 7 bowls which filled up the 2 tables. The owner may need to redesign the flow of the restaurant.
