Overall, it was okay with the consistency of Ya Kun Kaya Toast across all the outlets they have in Singapore. The eggs are still served with some water on the plate, as they are taken straight out from the sous vide water bath to maintain the soft-boiled texture and temperature. However, at times you may get slightly undercooked eggs, with some transparent parts still visible in the egg whites. The queue here is usually long, but it moves quite quickly at the ordering counter. The entrance area can feel hot and stuffy because of the boiling and preparation station nearby, but the seating area inside is much better with large air coolers. There is also another back entrance accessible from the Cold Storage side.
View on GoogleI have always been a loyal supporter of Ya Kun Kaya Toast, as it has consistently been one of my favourite go-to places. However, I am truly disappointed with my repeated experiences at the NEX Mall outlet. On multiple occasions—this being my 8th time—I have encountered the same issue: there is no ice available in the afternoon. This appears to be a recurring daily problem rather than an isolated incident. As someone who does not take hot drinks, this has made it impossible for me to enjoy anything on the menu. What is even more concerning is that many customers are being turned away due to this issue. For a well-established F&B brand in a busy mall, this reflects poorly on operational planning and customer service standards. It is disappointing to see such a reputable brand fall short in something so basic. I sincerely hope this issue will be addressed promptly, as it affects both customer experience and business potential.
View on GoogleSingapore Cultural Retro Cafe for its must try coffee, tea, kaya toast and soft-boiled eggs. Order and self collection was fast. Coffee $2.20 Tea $2.20 soft boil eggs $2.20 (inclusive tax). Soft boiled eggs’ yolk was huge and a winner! Can chill here for a while.
View on GoogleNice Milo and kopi O kosong. Is spacious. I have a perfect time with my 2.5years old son munching the Kaya toast away. The staff is efficient. Even though this outlet is busy, they still serve you friendly
View on GoogleToday, I visited the shop at approximately 7:45 AM. Unfortunately, the Kaya butter toast did not meet my expectations, as it deviated significantly from their signature crispy bread. Instead, it was soft and limp. This discrepancy likely contributed to the shop’s quieter atmosphere compared to the nearby toast box in the mall.
