Staff at the NEX outlet are really warm, friendly and knowledgeable. Very caring and attentive too. We dropped a small piece of food on our clothes and they immediately offered serviettes. Food is good and reasonably priced.
View on GoogleWe went there on a weekday dinner time, less queue. The portion size of the dishes we ordered is good for sharing especially the pasta. We requested for a well done steak, but it seemed to have still a little bit of blood when sliced. The staffs are approachable.
View on GoogleI have not eaten at the restaurant for more than 10 years. I am very impressed with how much they have improved yet maintaining many traditional things like the topping up of the wiped cream and bacon chips of your baked potato. I ordered a medium stake but came as medium rare. But the steak was fantastic. The fried rice was horrible. It tasted like those buffet rice that is cooked for some time already. Fish and chip is quite nice. And BBQ Chicken was good. The seats are quite old and the sofa I sat was like turned already.
View on GoogleI recently visited Jack's Place at NEX mall, hoping to enjoy a satisfying meal at a familiar spot. I decided to order the Triple Meat Grill set, which came with mushroom soup, ice lemon tea, bread, and a variety of grilled meats steak, chicken, and sausage. For dessert, I was looking forward to the simple "dessert of the day." I used the scan-to-order system, which seemed convenient enough at first. However, things quickly went downhill. The server, when bringing my order, seemed completely unsure of what I had selected. She kept asking if I had chosen certain items, even though everything had been clearly ordered through the system. It felt like she hadn’t paid attention to the details, which was frustrating because the whole point of the scan-to-order system is supposed to make things easier and faster. The real issue came when I asked her if dessert could be served. Instead of responding, she just walked away without saying a word. It was such a strange and off-putting moment, leaving me feeling completely ignored. A few moments later, she returned with the "dessert of the day," but by then, her lack of attention had already left a sour taste. When the food finally arrived, it was decent but not quite what I had hoped for. The Triple Meat Grill was fine steak, chicken, and sausage but nothing particularly outstanding. The steak was tender enough, the sausage was okay, though a bit greasy, but the chicken? It was dry like it had lost all its soul. It was flavorless and felt like it had been sitting around for too long. As for the mushroom soup, it was more like watery broth than anything substantial. It didn’t have that creamy, comforting texture you expect from a mushroom soup just thin and tasteless. The bread, on the other hand, was cool, which, honestly, didn't do much to complement the meal. By the time the "dessert of the day" arrived, I was already frustrated by the service. While the dessert was simple, it didn’t make up for the service mishaps and the lackluster food. What struck me most about the experience was the lack of “soul” at the restaurant. It felt like the whole place was just going through the motions like the staff didn’t really care or weren’t engaged with their work. There was no warmth or personal touch, which made the entire experience feel flat and uninviting. Overall, the meal didn’t live up to expectations. The food was decent, but the service and the overall atmosphere really left a lot to be desired. It’s a shame because Jack's Place used to be a place where you could count on good food and a welcoming vibe. Unfortunately, this visit left me feeling like the restaurant had lost its spark.
View on GoogleWas at Serangoon Nex Jack's place at 6pm. Good was served pretty fast. Chicken, fish, seafood was just on the dot cooked. Which preserved the freshness and taste of the food. It was kinda busy during this time but all servers showed enthusiasm in their work, very attentive to each indi table's request. Is not easy to find these kinda old school western food that maintained food standard and attentive service all these years. Thank you and please continue to keep up the good job.
