Great udon and don. And deep fried squid was a bit too chewy for us. But great service and the don and dried udon was really nice. Curry udon is quite spicy, so take care that the kids can take spicy level before ordering.
View on GoogleThis is the worst restaurant I have ever been, not in terms of food, but in terms of service. I was there with my elderly mum on walking stick who has mobility issue and cannot stand for long, my husband and child are walking over on their way. As my mum cannot stand for long, I brought her inside to a 2 seater table inside and let her sit for a while, while I stand besides her, I intended to let my husband queue instead when he arrives shortly after with my child and helper. There will be 5 of us, but I just let my mum sit at a 2 seater small table while waiting and not occupying other bigger space. But a waitress of a petite size came over looking very unhappy and kept telling us to stand up to join the queue, I told her my elderly mother couldn't stand anymore and ask for their consideration to let her sit down first, I did not occupy any seat and only letting my mum sit down on a chair and the waitress gave me a very black face and dismay look. This restaurant is very insensitive to the needs of elderly or anyone who is not feeling well etc and i strongly discourage anyone to visit this unempathetic restaurant. The way that waitress handled the issue was very inflexible and rude, just going by strict rules. I saw one of the reviews from 3 years ago that a heavily pregnant lady was denied a seat too while waiting, looks like the restaurant did not improve or intend to improve in this issue at all. Even bus and mrt provide better service with signs and priority seats for elderly and pregnant ladies and encouraged people to give seats to the vulnerable, but this restuarant is completely opposite. We visited on Sunday 26 July around 2pm and after this bad encounter, decided to patronise Ding Tai Fung just a short distance away who provide better service with some chairs at the counter for people who may need to sit while waiting for a table. We will not patronise Idaten Udon again.
View on GoogleI have been walking past this shop many times and finally I got a chance to try it. I wasn't sure how to order but it will be good if they have something at the entrance to let us know how to order.i ordered the kitsune udon. I like how they charred the tofu skin to give it another dimension of taste. Their udon is not bad but definitely not the best, it was not as smooth as some udon I had. However the fried items available to choose from is commendable. Luckily I only chose 2 items and both were still very crispy, even though they seem to be out in the counter for sometime. Overall a good experience if you are craving for a nice bowl of warm comforting udon soup.
View on GoogleIt’s in the Japanese corner of the mall , the udon is ok, but everything is quite salty. Have eaten much better udon but this is still acceptable for a lunch meet up in the area. Ordered curry udon, tasty Fried chicken cutlet tasted nice Added an onsen egg My aunt said the chicken in her udon soup was not fresh , and the salt level in the soup was too much as well. The wakame seaweed was a bit tough, so I think it’s all cheaper quality ingredients.. The fried stuff was warm but not crispy. Better not to take it unless you absolutely want something. (Take it yourself before payment) Afterwards I got very thirsty, that’s never a good thing.
View on GoogleMy first time visiting this udon place, and at first glance, it seemed quite crowded, but I was pleasantly surprised how quickly the line moved. The udon was cooked perfectly, and the real highlight was the bacon tempura, which was generously coated in tempura batter. The condiments were tasty, and the inari had a lovely sweetness. The flavors reminded me of the udon places we have in Japan, especially those in malls. Plus, the prices were very reasonable.
