I love eating at Collin’s for they have economical lunch sets which is value for money. Today I went specially for the festive 3-course menu. We ordered the BBQ ribs (half slab), fish and chips, roasted half chicken and chicken chop with wagyu beef. The BBQ ribs is really tender and well flavoured. I remember having the ribs sometime back and I loved the smoky flavour emitting from the ribs, but this is missing in the ribs this time round. Nevertheless, the ribs is still very tasty, meaty and I loved it. The roasted half chicken is also pretty tender and well seasoned. The only flaw is the beef, we had 2 orders for the chicken chop with wagyu, one is medium rare and another rare, however both turned out well done, so that was a little disappointing. The fish and chips was within our expectation… crispy and serving size also pretty decent. The soups were nice, however the piece of bread that came with the soup appeared to be ‘over’ toasted as it was very hard. My minestrone soup was served slightly warm and dipping the piece of hard toast inside didn’t really help to soften the bread. We didn’t have to wait very long before the food was served and the restaurant wasn’t packed when we had our lunch. However, it was noisy as there were crying babies and toddlers nearby throughout our meal so that sort of marred our dining experience as the parents did nothing to calm the kids. Otherwise, overall, we enjoyed the food and drinks. Parking wasn’t all that difficult too at the time we arrived.
View on GoogleCurrently there is a christmas promotion going on which is a 3 course set meal at $24++ to $30++ depending on which set meal you ordered. The 3 course set include a bowl of soup, one main course and a drink. Would be better if the waitress can inform us of the ongoing promotion. I ordered the mix grill, which consist of a normal size chicken chop and a small size pork chop. The serving is just nice for me. The mushroom soup is only slightly warm and not hot enough to my taste. The ice earl grey tea is good but a bit too much ice in it. Overall the experience is good, pricing wise still acceptable. Credit card promotion is only for A la carte item and not for set.
View on GoogleOne for one is value for money. I came here for lunch and this is my third visit. I was looking forward to the duck confit, but it is no longer is in the promotion. The mushroom soup is decent. The white truffle mushroom ravioli’s cream base was good with some rocket, but the ravioli wasn’t anything amazing. The star today was the grilled chicken chop with its succulent meat and crispy skin. It never goes wrong with this dish. I had high hopes for the tiramisu, but it was a disappointment as it was hard instead of soft and obviously pulled out of the freezer with the ice at the side… Came back again for fourth visit. Chicken chop was fantastic, but the steak was a bit stale…
View on GoogleWe enjoyed eating here on a weekday lunch. Kids meal is served for free if you order 2 mains. In addition, 2 side including drinks are complimentary served for respective mains. It's value for money. Chicken chop was very tender and well smelled. One disappointed thing was salad dressing which was very sweet.
