Visited again 30 March 2025 ======= Came specially for the satay which we really enjoyed. Today tried the salted egg yolk prawn from the zhi char stall. Prawns are very fresh and the salted egg yolk paste is very nice. See photo. ####### Visited again on 28 March 2025 ===≈/=== Had the fish soup and the lor mee today. Both were 4 stars. Added photos. ####### Coffeeshop in a quiet part of Sengkang. Not many stalls operating in the evening. We came for Kim Keat satay, which is available during the weekend evenings (review done separately), but we decided to try the rojak, char kay teow, and roti prata today. Rojak was acceptable, and so was the roti prata and char kway teow. Only the satay is excellent.

Place is hot in the afternoon and bad air circulation, prepare to get sweaty. The Char Kway Teow was nice but more on the sweeter side. Rojak is good, with lil bit of chilli.

Rude stall assistant. They raise the price by $0.20. The auntie who send the drink said it's for the $0.10 return policy implement for drink cans and overall price increase which I accepted and ordered. after which as I support recycling, I took the drink can to the machine just beside the block to get the refund. sadly it didn't work, i went back to ask and the drink stall assistant was very rude. Raising her voice and insisting that it was the supplier who raised the cost. The irony is she mentioned supplier increased the price by $2 by carton. the avg is $0.10 per can but they are charging $0.20 increase. haha. Making excuses to increase pricing and giving inconsistant explanation. sometime they don't understand it is not about money but the attitude.

We walked all the way here for the char kway teow, only to be told that they had closed for the day. We ended up eating at the zi char stall instead. When I requested that my egg be well done, the staff gave me an irritated look, but the food was delicious nevertheless. However, there were at least 8–10 flies hovering around our table, and we had to constantly fan them away while eating. When we asked the zi char stall staff to clean the table, as we suspected there were dirty stains attracting the flies, they told us we had to approach the cleaner. When we informed the lady clearing the plates about the flies, she exclaimed, “Eeee!” and walked away. While waiting for the food to be served, we asked the beer lady if the char kway teow was good since it was our first time here. She gave us a negative look and said cheap things would not be good. Aside from the food I ordered, I really have nothing positive to say about this coffeeshop. I doubt I will come back again. It would be good if they upgraded the coffeeshop, as it looks old and dim, and cleanliness is a significant issue that no one seems to address.
