Thought I’ll share my experience dining here today, the crabmeat with curry is the bomb, full of flavor and umami goes very well with white rice. The roasted pork belly, prawn cake and mid joint chicken also very well executed, the tomyam mama is also a must order, we even top up maggie+ $2/pack quite reasonably priced. I like their ice lemongrass drink too. Initially I thought the prawn cake was a lil expensive, 2 for $12 however the prawn cake is huge and can be cut and share among friends. Overall a great dining experience, the staff are also friendly and nice.
View on GoogleWill recommend and visit again! Just look at the color of the Tom yum soup..!! It’s perfect (tho at the end can be kinda saltly) but love the sourness and spiciness at the same time. Deep fried pork was great as well, the batter is not thick and meat was actually tender (not 柴柴) Veggies was normal nothing to fuss about! Staff can be friendlier with smiles :)
View on Google⭐⭐⭐☆☆ We were excited to finally try 87 Just Thai, but unfortunately, the experience was rather underwhelming. The biggest disappointment was the Clear Tom Yum Seafood Soup. Although we requested a less spicy version, we didn’t expect it to lose its signature Tom Yum character entirely. It tasted more like a lemongrass soup, with hardly any of the tangy, spicy flavours that make Tom Yum so distinctive. The prawns also didn’t seem particularly fresh. The other dishes were fairly average. The Prawn Cakes were tasty but felt significantly overpriced for the portion served. The Crab Fried Rice and the Kang Kung Belacan were decent though the vegetables tasted a bit old or overcooked. On a positive note, the Thai Red Tea and Coconut Water were refreshing and enjoyable. Overall, the food was acceptable, but it didn’t quite justify the premium prices. With so many good Thai restaurants available, I had expected more in terms of flavour, quality, and value for money.
View on GoogleThe food was quite tasty and suited my taste. The stir-fried holy basil with century egg was very delicious. The tom yum fish soup was pleasantly sour but still well balanced. However I felt that the papaya salad with fermented fish sauce was a bit too mild. The prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. The service was fast, probably because I arrived just after the restaurant opened and it was not very busy yet. After a while the restaurant became full of customers. I would recommend making a reservation before visiting.
View on Google3.5/5 I’m glad there is a new reliable Thai food place in Punggol. It’s nice to have a decent option nearby so I don’t have to travel far every time I want something decent. The dishes here are definitely above average, but I feel like the prices don’t quite justify the quality you're getting. When you compare it to a place like A-Roy Thai, the flavours here just don’t have that same level of authenticity or the kind of depth of flavour that you'd expect at this price point. The yellow curry was alright, but it wasn’t as delicious as what I’ve had at Somboon Seafood in Bangkok or even A-Roy Thai, it just felt like it was lacking a certain aromatic. The Tom Yum soup and the Seabass were the same; they aren't bad, but they are just missing something. The freshness and the flavours of the seabass was alright, but not comparable to what I’ve had at Kungthong Seafood in BKK. Everything is decent and the food looks great, but it lacks that real depth that makes Thai food special. I can’t quite put my finger on what’s missing, but it just didn't hit the spot perfectly. I might come back to try other dishes and hope something else impresses me more, but for now, it’s a fair 3.5/5 for being a reliable neighbourhood spot.
