As a foodie in Singapore who enjoys exploring different cuisines, I was excited to try this Sichuan restaurant at Waterway Point after seeing so many positive Google reviews. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. The service got off to a poor start when my Pu Er tea only arrived after I reminded the staff, despite waiting for more than 15 minutes. The sliced fish with sauerkraut soup (酸菜鱼片汤) was overly oily and excessively sour. The fish lacked the soft, silky texture I expected. The braised pork trotters (卤猪脚加梅菜)were overwhelmingly spicy, with no meat and mostly pig’s skin and bones. The flavours lacked balance and depth. It’s making my throat very irritated. Even the fried cauliflower, which looked promising, was undercooked and still quite raw. It’s so hard to chew. Overall, the food quality and service did not justify the positive reviews. This meal costs me $80 which is not worthwhile and I will never return to this place again.

Had a satisfying meal at So Do Fun @ Waterway Point. The boiled fresh fish in sauerkraut broth was pleasantly sour and refreshing, with tender, fresh fish slices. The Chengdu mapo tofu packed a spicy kick, rich with chilli oil and bold flavours. The boneless diced chicken with chilli pepper was crispy on the outside and thoroughly enjoyable. We also loved the house special fried rice—each grain well-coated with lard, making it incredibly fragrant and comforting. Given complimentary dessert for this review. Thank you! Visited on Dec 2025

We visited as a group of 3 on a weekday lunch hour. Got a table immediately. Service was very friendly and fast. The menu has a good selection of dishes and I especially love the decor and how clean the restaurant was. Snacks in bite size packaging were free to take while we wait for the dishes. In terms of food quality, it was slightly below par, it's more home-cooked style than restaurant style and there is room for improvement.

Our first time eating at this place:) food is surprisingly good and just right for Singaporean tastebuds 🙂 service can be improved. Table can be a bit bigger, so if you have a bigger group you might wanna ask for a bigger table.

Food was delicious and def worth trying. The fish was so smooth and soft and the soup was so refreshing. The sweet and sour pork was really nice and I love the flavour of it. The noodle have really nice flavour and the prawn was really fresh!! Love the food here and would definitely come back again to try more variety!!
