Had a really good meal at Kin Kao Mai Thai Restaurant and it definitely delivered on flavour. We ordered a few Thai dishes and everything came out really satisfying, bold, punchy flavours with that nice balance of spicy, sour, and savoury that Thai food is known for. The dishes were fragrant and well-seasoned without being overly heavy, and everything paired really well together with rice. What stood out most was how “homely” and comforting the food felt. It’s the kind of place where the flavours are familiar but still exciting, and you can tell the cooking is done with care. Overall, really enjoyable Thai food with strong flavours and generous portions. A solid spot I’d definitely come back to again when I’m craving Thai food.
View on GoogleGreat spot for both food and entertainment! There’s a good variety of Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese dishes to choose from. The highlight is the live band—the Thai singer has an amazing voice and engages the crowd in a fun, respectful way without interrupting your meal. Guests can even go on stage to sing, which adds to the lively atmosphere. The band is very versatile, performing songs in Thai, Chinese, Hokkien, Korean, and Cantonese. Food-wise, everything we tried was delicious. The tom yam soup is a must-order—rich, flavorful, and really stands out. Prices are reasonable too. Overall, a great place to enjoy good food and a fun night out!
View on GoogleI recently went to Kin Kao Mai Thai Restaurant and honestly, it turned out to be one of those meals that you keep thinking about the next day. From the moment we stepped in, the place already had that cosy Thai vibe. Not overly fancy, but warm and inviting. You can smell the herbs and spices in the air, which immediately makes you hungry. We started with the tom yam soup, and wah, it really hit the spot. The soup came bubbling hot, with that unmistakable fragrance of lemongrass and kaffir lime leaf. The first sip was shiok. Spicy, sour, slightly sweet, all balanced nicely. The kind that makes you sweat a bit but you still keep going back for more. The prawns were fresh and plump, not those small small ones. The mushrooms soaked up all the flavour of the broth, so every bite was packed with taste. It was strong but not overwhelming, and you could tell the stock was properly done, not just chilli and lime thrown together. Then came the pad thai. The noodles were nicely cooked, not too soft and not clumped together. Each strand was coated evenly with the sauce, giving that slightly sweet and tangy flavour that pad thai is known for. There was a good amount of wok fragrance, plus the crunch from the beansprouts and crushed peanuts gave it more texture. The prawns were again very fresh, and the egg was well mixed through. Squeeze a bit of lime over and mix everything up, and it was really satisfying. Not overly oily, which I appreciated. We also ordered a basil minced pork rice to share. That one was fragrant and spicy in a very addictive way. The basil aroma came through strongly, and the minced pork was juicy and well seasoned. Once you mix it with the rice and let the runny egg yolk coat everything, wah, comfort food level max. Service wise, the staff were friendly and quite attentive. They checked in on us to see if the spice level was okay, which I found thoughtful. Food came out at a good pace, and they were quick to clear plates when we were done. Even though the place was quite packed, the atmosphere didn’t feel too noisy or stressful. Overall, Kin Kao Mai Thai Restaurant gave a very satisfying Thai meal. The flavours felt authentic and bold, not watered down. If you are craving something spicy, sour, and comforting, this place really delivers. I will definitely be back again the next time the tom yam craving kicks in.
View on GoogleThe restaurant has a great ambiance, and it's perfect for unwinding and relaxing with friends or family. The food was also delicious. I had the seafood tom yam, prawn cake, grilled squid, seafood glass noodle, and steamed sea bass. All of the dishes were very flavorful and well-presented. One thing that I really appreciated about Kin Kao Mai Thai Restaurant is that their food is not overly sweet, which is common in Thai cuisine. This made their dishes more enjoyable for me. Overall, I had a great experience at Kin Kao Mai Thai Restaurant.
