Been to this outlet about 5 times, on weekday, weekend and public holiday. The good: Food and drinks are well done. Toast has that charcoal smokiness. Eggs also cooked nicely. Staff are polite, responsive and they really do the best they can with what they have. There is aircon before 9am (most outlets in malls only have aircon after 9am), welcome from the hot weather. It is easily one of the more spacious outlets, ample seating for you your family, their families . The not so good: I think waiting time of 10-15mins is reasonable and expected. bread/food needs time to be toasted/steamed/prepped. However, this outlet is consistently slow. Rain or shine, weekday/weekend, 830am, 9am, 930am, crowded or less crowded. Bring a book while you wait, or a hard sudoka puzzle to solve or chit chat with your loved ones. Don't be rushed, and you will be happy when you get your food. I had the pleasure of ordering my food at 831am and receiving my drinks in 5mins, and my bread and eggs at 917am on a pub hol today. During then, I clocked about 2000 steps, familiarized myself with the Punggol Digital District and watched some dogs go for a walk. The toast and eggs were great, my teh peng was diluted to about 2 parts water, just the way I intended to unsweeten my drink. TLDR: lovely ldyllic outlet. good for slow pace of life.
View on GoogleI have been eating at Ya Kun when he was still running his stall at Telok Ayer Basin by the sea before all the land reclamation. always ate the same.. tea (di lok), toast (crispy) & eggs. I ate at this outlet on Jun 6, 26 at 1130am. the store lay out was good, with adequate space between tables. the food needs improvement. 1 of the egg yolks was broken. the toast was not crispy, wasnt left in the toaster long enough. but the main issue was the taste of the tea. it does not taste like the usual ya kun tea. it could be due to the water, or the washing of cups or something else. for comparison, i went back to my usual White Sands branch today. the tea here tastes right, so the tea leaf formula is still the same.
View on GoogleRelatively new (as of the time of posting) Ya Kun outlet. Staff was polite and courteous, and the place was quiet on the Saturday late afternoon I visited in early May. The toast was done properly which is all you need to know about this outlet.
View on GoogleMy family almost daily come to Ya Kun daily. Today order very disappointed. Order the new fungus drink is cold which wanted hot. Eggs got the dirty shit n pass over and hard boil egg is cold. The only boy service quivly react and service us in good manners and only all the lady show unhappy face that what I complain of. Staff Irene more worst..making coffee and can command this and that when I order my meal. Everyone should had their own role. The old staffs are much better then this groups. It seem the service boy is the only one who serve and service well include had see him doing alot of stuffs jobs. After all...my family dare not want to drop by here anymore.
View on GoogleSunday morning at 9am+ is expected peak hour. There are 10-12 people in line to take orders, I’ve ordered my food at 9.55am, gotten my drinks at 10am but my food was done only at 10.35am (easily 20 orders waiting for food too) Yet - the store is fulfilling GrabFood orders with 5-6 staff. Either get more manpower or stop accepting food deliveries? Definitely could do better
