Having patronised them from 205 TPY North to Hougang Ave 1 and now at their current address at Kensington Square, Teochew uncle and auntie's fish soup maintains the same quality and friendly service throughout. The fish is fresh, albeit small portion, fried fish is crispy, and soup is umami with danggui added. Now at their current address, they've taken a whole unit so there is ample seating with air condition. But I still prefer sweating it out at their al fresco dining area like at an old school eatery.
View on GoogleReally good fish soup that recently moved to Kensington Square. Went for dinner at around 6pm and there wasn't sufficient sliced fish, and they could only offer the seafood soup instead. The broth was very flavourful and the ingredients were fresh. There are 60 seats in total (42 indoors and 18 outside). As the store is not that big, the seats can be quite close to each other and noisy.
View on GoogleSaw on TikTok that Ah Shun Fish Soup was claimed to be one of the best fish soups in Singapore, so I decided to give it a try. Went around 12pm and the queue was really long — took about 30 minutes before it was finally my turn. Ordered both the sliced fish soup and fried fish soup. The sliced fish soup was good with a flavourful and comforting broth, but personally not something I would specially travel down and queue that long for. The fried fish soup, however, was amazing and might actually be my favourite fried fish soup so far. They cleverly served the fried fish separately so it stayed crispy and didn’t turn soggy in the soup. The fish pieces were cut quite small, almost reminding me of popcorn chicken, and every bite was super crunchy. Would totally come back again just for this!
View on GoogleTried Anshun Fish Soup recently. I regretted adding milk into the soup as I felt the broth would probably have tasted better and cleaner without it. The batang fish slices were reasonably fresh, though not quite as fresh as the ones from Angel Horse Teochew Fish Soup. The fried fish nuggets were pretty good and supposedly made with threadfin fish. I cannot confirm that for sure, but they definitely did not taste like the usual cheaper basa/pangasius fish used at some places. The stall is located in a rather hidden coffee shop, but the business seems quite good and queues can already be seen before lunchtime. Fish portions were also quite generous, and I think it is worth trying if you enjoy fish soup.
View on GoogleFavourite fish soup place !!! Have tried many options from their menu and really enjoyed each one. As a sliced fish person, I found the fried fish really nice as well and loved that it is separated from the soup ! Sliced fish is soft and well prepared, it does not smell. Glad the food stayed tasty even after multiple moves. Owners and staff are really kind and friendly too Recommend trying tom yum seafood soup and crispy fried omega salmon besides the regular fish soup !!
