Haven’t had their curry rice in ages. Parking is terrible — limited and a hassle. Got curry rice with pork chop, potato with minced meat, tau pok for $5.50. Late night buy, so not piping hot or crispy, but still decent. Worth a try.
View on GoogleAverage curry rice. Curry is on the thinner side. Best item was the onion egg. Curry chicken and cabbage is so so. Overall, an ok plate of rice if you looking for supper in hougang. What i had was the $5.90 curry chicken set. Parking very limited as there are only a few road side lots.
View on GooglePork chop a bit tough. Chicken wing average. Food not hot enough. Two plates and otak $21, a bit pricey. Recommend order their ‘set’ meals $5.90+.
View on GoogleI usually patronise for their Pork Porridge, Chicken Wings, Cabbage and authentic chendol. Still good, but I fancy was better. I vaguely remember their porridge being much thicker. Taste is still there, ingredients still generous. Just felt alittle watery this time. I really hope it’s a one off thing. I really really enjoy eating here, their fried chickens wings are the best! Pro Tip - if you are just after their chicken wings, and some side dishes, just go straight to the cashier and order.
View on GoogleAlright, folks, listen up! Donkey and I have always been curious about Sin Chie Toke Huan Hainanese Curry Rice, as it's always packed with people and has a long queue, especially during dinner time. We finally decided to give it a try after returning from Malaysia. What We Tried: • We ordered shredded egg, pork chop cutlet, curry chicken, and cabbage, along with two curry rice. The total cost was $14.50, which we thought was reasonable. What We Loved: • The shredded egg and cabbage were the highlights of the meal, with the shredded egg being particularly unique and flavorful. What We Didn’t Love: • The curry rice was lukewarm, and the dishes weren't hot either. • The curry chicken was just okay, and the pork chop wasn't very appealing, especially to me. I personally felt it was a bit salty. Donkey's Take: I wasn't too impressed with the temperature of the food. It felt a bit underwhelming. My Take: The shredded egg was really good! I loved the unique flavor. Rating: • Food: 3/5 (Some hits and misses) • Value: 4/5 (Reasonably priced) • Ambiance: 3/5 (Classic coffee shop vibe) Overall: 3.5/5 Our Verdict: While Sin Chie Toke Huan Hainanese Curry Rice has a classic coffee shop vibe and definitely feels like a place that's been around for a long time, we weren't overly impressed with the curry rice. We still recommend the pork porridge, which is definitely a standout at this coffee shop.
