The laksa broth has a decent balance of coconut milk and spice. It slightly on the lighter side rather than thick and creamy, so you’re probably getting a more drinkable, less lemak-heavy version. The sambal on top is a good touch—it adds that punch of heat and depth if mixed in properly. Ingredients-wise $6 it’s quite generous with classic elements: fish cakes, tau pok soaking up the broth, and those smooth fish balls. The tau pok in particular well-saturated, it absorbs all that laksa gravy.

Had a short queue when I was there; the queue cleared relatively fast. The noodles are good with the chili being the highlight; fragrant and packs enough heat but is not overwhelming. Didn't taste any vinegar, but overall it tastes very well balanced. 6 dollars gives you a rather big portion with generous topping of ingredients, the meatballs, in particular, are a treat.

I stumbled upon Chun Fu Fishball Minced Meat Noodle Laksa while searching for dinner at Kovan Market. The sight of a queue outside the store piqued my curiosity, leading me to try their minced meat noodle mee pok dry. My buddy and I both ordered a bowl, with her opting for the non-chili version with tomato ketchup, while I went for the regular dry minced meat noodle. The lady boss greeted us warmly and provided excellent service, even offering the convenience of PayNow or cash payment. Each bowl of noodles was priced at $5, which seemed reasonable for the portion size, although I felt that in a hawker center setting, the price might be considered slightly high in the competitive food industry. The mee pok used in the dish left something to be desired, as it felt dry when mixed with the sauce. To enhance the texture and flavor, I found myself adding a teaspoon of soup to moisten the noodles. The chili provided was decent, and the homemade fishballs were delightfully chewy, albeit lacking a distinct fish flavor. The meatballs, also homemade, stood out for their tasty quality. Despite the dryness of the noodles, the overall dish was acceptable, complemented by well-prepared garnishes and mushrooms. I believe that a better quality mee pok and improved cooking technique could elevate the dish further. I have yet to try their famous laksa, which I plan to do in the future. For now, I have awarded Chun Fu Fishball Minced Meat Noodle Laksa a solid four-star rating. I look forward to revisiting and possibly upgrading their rating after sampling their renowned laksa.

Passed by and saw that there are only 3 in the queue, so I decided to give it a try after missing it due to its forever super long queues… now I know why there’s always a queue. Ordered a bowl of laksa and minced meat mee pok for $5 each. The taste is average at first bite but it gradually becomes better, a simple bowl of noodles but done to near perfection

Donkey and I recently dined at Chun Fu Fishball Minced Meat Noodle Laksa in Kovan Market & Food Centre. Donkey came across the stall while looking for dinner at Kovan Market, intrigued by the queue outside. The bustling crowd sparked Donkey's curiosity, prompting us to try the minced meat noodle mee pok dry. Both of us placed our orders, with me choosing the non-chili version with tomato ketchup, while Donkey opted for the regular dry minced meat noodle with chili. The lady boss warmly greeted us and provided exceptional service, offering the convenience of PayNow or cash payment. Each bowl of noodles was priced at $5 during our visit, a slight change from the previous price. While the cost seemed reasonable for the portion size, we felt that in a hawker center setting, it might be considered slightly high in the competitive food industry. The mee pok in the dish left much to be desired, as it felt dry when mixed with the sauce. To enhance the texture and flavor, we had to add some soup to moisten the noodles. The chili provided was satisfactory, and the homemade fishballs were delightfully chewy, although they lacked a distinct fish flavor. The meatballs, also homemade, were standout for their delicious quality. Despite the dryness of the noodles, the overall dish was satisfactory, complemented by well-prepared garnishes and mushrooms. I believe that enhancing the quality of the mee pok and refining the cooking technique could elevate the dish to another level. We have yet to sample their famous laksa, which we plan to do in the future. I look forward to revisiting and possibly upgrading our rating after sampling their renowned laksa.
