Chef Nico’s extension of his own kitchen. Food from the heart cooked his own way, own-time-own target. Humble chef-owner. Engaging and funny. Funcle. Real hole-in-the-wall. Food is comforting, not avant-garde. Nowhere near fine-dining! But Nico Carries a great conversation. The grilled Hokke from Hokkaido is probably the star. Laksa is rich and crustaceony. The other dishes like the Kani- croquette hold their own. Drinks are punchy and strong. You won’t go wrong if you Stick to the highballs. He also serves a tetra-pak Kikusui Daiginjo that is fruity and clean. Kanpai. This place is booked out for months so WhatsApp to find the next availability.
View on GoogleA really cozy, chillax and comfortable 6-seater izakaya place. Spent a nice 3.5hrs enjoying the food, chillax and chatting with my friends. As the boss meticulously served up, in an omakase style, 12 different unique and tasty dishes 😋. He carefully explained each dish and taught us how to savour each of them. Truly a yummy and enjoyable dining experience! 😁💯👍
View on Googlesuper lovely place ran by a very interesting and warm hearted owner. he kindly explained each dish and how to savour them, and paired them with delicious highballs and sake for us. each dish was a masterpiece and i'm truly mind blown... waited about 4 months for this reservation and we adored every gently handcrafted and served platter. highly recommended, go with an open heart and empty belly for the best experience! thank you Nico for this sanctuary away from the bustling cityscapes
View on GoogleWe visited this restaurant based on a word-of-mouth recommendation, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The grilled fish was even better than what we had in Japan. Nico served each dish one by one, explaining how best to enjoy them, along with his own special sauces, which really elevated the experience. Overall, it was a 10/10. The atmosphere was super chill and cozy, and we even had a nice chat with the owner after the meal. Highly recommend coming here to try everything on the menu. It’s not easy to find a place like this in Singapore. It honestly felt like being transported to Japan.
View on GoogleNo hype, just pure craft and care in every dish that he makes. One of my our new favourite food joints for sure. Great value for money too—can’t wait to go back!
