Yaowarat Thai Kway Chap
Our Yaowarat Thai Kway Chap has a unique clear pepper based soup and curled rice noodle aka ‘Kway’. Contrastingly, this dish is not what we use to eat in our homeland that comprise of flat and thick rice noodle with traditional dark herbal braised soup.

I tried the kway chap at Yaowarat Thai Kway Chap and really liked how the broth leaned peppery and savory instead of the usual herbal style. It made each bite feel light and refreshing, which was a nice change. The familiar kway chap texture still came through, but with a different flavor profile that kept me interested. I’d happily come back for it again.
View on GoogleWent to Yaowarat Thai Kway Chap at Kovan for dinner and enjoyed a comforting meal. 🍜 We ordered their Signature Thai Kway Chap, Fried Large Intestine, and Homemade Pandan Chicken Stick. The Thai Kway Chap is still as comforting as ever — warm and satisfying. Compared to my previous visits, the soup felt less peppery, but it seems like the portion of the kway and ingredients has increased slightly, which was a nice surprise. The Homemade Pandan Chicken Stick was something new for me and I really enjoyed it. Fragrant, juicy, and very tasty. I also liked the Fried Large Intestine. It had a slight porky taste, but the crispy texture more than made up for it and made it quite addictive. Before leaving, I even packed a portion of Thai Kway Chap home for my mother-in-law as her supper. Oh, and a small tip — if you follow their new Instagram account and show the staff, you’ll receive a free glass of Iced Lemon Tea. 🍋 #YaowaratThaiKwayChap #KwayChap #ThaiKwayChap #KovanEats #SGHawker #SGFoodies #SingaporeEats #ComfortFood #FoodieSG #PandanChicken #FriedIntestine #LocalEats #SupportLocalSG #Foodstagram #mealsphotos @yaowaratthaikwayychap
View on GooglePretty good kway chap with a peppery soup base. Good texture to the kway and very different to the Singapore herbal/duck style. Loved the Thai fish sausage - good sweetness and snap to it. Crispy pork belly was surprisingly still crispy despite being in the soup
View on GoogleWhat even in the thai kway chap. Had the Signature Thai Kway Chap. The pork was smelly, and I didn't even eat the offals. Fish sausage is what you'd expect. My friend who had their Plain Thai Kway Chap said the soup was smelly too. I guess it's because they cook the pork in the soup? Otherwise, the soup was tasteless. Not sure why this place is so highly rated. Comes nothing close to what you'll have in Thailand.
View on GoogleMy first time visiting Yaowarat Thai Kway Chap at Kovan. I ordered their signature kway chap and fried large intestines. The kway chap soup was flavourful but not overly peppery, so it should suit most people. The ingredients was generous, and I love the fish sausage! The fried large intestines were crispy, not greasy at all, and even the small portion was very generous. Overall, a satisfying meal!
