Second time visiting here. Arrived at around 12+pm and the queue was alr snaking long. Queued for ard 1h before I finally got my food. Do expect some queue. The oyster omelette ($7) is a must-order. Uncle does it really good each time. But recommend to have it while it's hot for the best taste. Oysters are plump and the egg to mixture proportion is just nice for me. The chilli for oyster omelette is also worth commending. Not too vinegary. This time the Char Kway Teow ($5) was a little let down. Whole plate had a lot of burnt ends. And the CKT was kinda too oily which also lacked flavours. 😕 They're closed on Mon & Tue.

Finally made the trip down to Hougang Oyster Omelette and Fried Kway Teow and decided to order their must-order dishes — Oyster Omelette and Fried Kway Teow, both in the smallest portions to try. What I liked was seeing the teamwork behind the stall: the lady boss handling the Fried Kway Teow, while the male boss focused solely on the Oyster Omelette. You can really tell each dish gets its own attention. 🍜 Fried Kway Teow Not the darkest plate you’ll see, but very flavourful and full of 古早味. The boss was generous with ingredients — plenty of bean sprouts, vegetables, fishcake, and hums. It had that warm, comforting hawker-style touch. Slightly on the oily side towards the end, but I’m sure some people will love it exactly this way. 🦪 Oyster Omelette This one impressed me. The oysters were big, fresh, and cut to a nice bite size — about 5–6 pieces even in the smallest serving. The boss used a good amount of coriander, which cleverly helped mask any fishiness from the oysters. A smart and well-executed move. Overall, definitely worth the time and effort to head down to 435A Hougang Ave 8 and try their cooking. We initially wanted to try the Hokkien Mee beside too, but these two plates already filled me and my SO up nicely. Guess we’ll save that for another visit 😌🍽️ #HougangEats #HougangFood #SingaporeHawker #HawkerFoodSG #FriedKwayTeow #CharKwayTeow #OysterOmelette #OrhLuak #古早味 #LocalDelights #SGFoodie #SGEats #SupportLocal #HawkerHeritage #FoodieSingapore #mealsphotos

Wow, this is the best Oyster Omelette I've eaten. Everything was good, the oysters were fresh and plump, the eggs were perfectly cooked, still soft which complements the crispy fried tapioca flour. My only concern was that I discovered this place so late, the uncle could be close to retiring. The CKT was nice but not my favourite. The stall opens at 11am till it's sold out and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Be prepared to queue.

2 elderly couple manning the stall. Its heartening to see how they still can stand for so long time in the stall. Oyster omelette is crispy and oysters are fresh indeed. Char kway teow taste so- so only to me.

Oyster omelet is good especially with crispy starch base. Good sized oysters. CKT is matter of taste. A bit sweet and dry compared to wet type Im accustomed to. Overall good. PS Don't miss the local 1949 TWCK coffee. The kao is pretty good.
