15min queue. By 1pm on Sunday they are out of drumsticks. So I settled for chicken breast for $4. No gizzard not liver or whatsoever Pros Rice. Fragrance and also large serving imho it is too much. Garlic mash. Not usual do they have this, mixing chicken with the chili and garlic gives it an extra dimension of welcoming taste. Meh Chicken breast not the most tender, I know is breast but the bite isn't firm nor springy. Also not alot but at least it is thick. Too salty. To be fair garlic mix is a bit too salty when mixed with rice. So keep with as a chicken dip. Nice as it is probably won't travel for this.
View on GoogleOne of the better hainanese chicken rice I have eaten. Some of the more well known chicken rice are over priced. For half chicken at $14 the meat is enough for about 3pax. They only sell steam chicken. No roasted chicks. The chicken meat is tender. The rice is fragrant to eat on its own and their chili sauce is really fragrant with a hint of spiciness. The soup is old school. Clear soup flavour with sprigs of coriander leaves. Compliments the meal wonderfully! But the queue can get pretty long during lunch time especially weekends. So be prepared to play games on your phone while queuing.
View on GoogleGrowing up eating Hainanese chicken rice cooked by my grandma, this chicken rice fell short from my expectation, be it the rice, ginger paste or chilli. The only best part was the chicken which was tender. Just my own personal preference.
View on GoogleThis is definitely above the average in the battle of hainanese chicken rice in SG. However, the long waiting time 45min to 60min is a major drawback to a hainanese chicken rice lover like me. If you are not in a hurry, had an exciting book with you to read or in a small group with time to burn by catching up with childhood stories or you got friends visiting from overseas & you wanted to show them other than Maxwell food center, can try out this stall.
View on GoogleCame by for early lunch and ordered their chicken rice with extra rice. Rice is fluffy and fragrant. Although breast meat was given, I had no complains because it was tender and juicy. Their versions of the chilli is slightly more sour and tangy which adds a nice taste along with the savoury rice. I must complement their soup defintely tasted rich.
