As much as I want to gatekeep this place… I can’t. 🤍 Mun Fu Chicken Rice has been my favourite chicken rice stall for a long time, and every visit reminds me why. The queue is almost always there, but it’s 100% worth the wait. The father-and-son duo running the stall are some of the friendliest, warmest people you’ll meet. You can genuinely feel the pride and care they put into every plate they serve, and that makes the food taste even better. As someone who’s a huge chicken rice fan (I’ve tried countless stalls across Singapore), this easily sits right at the top of my list. The chicken is incredibly tender and juicy, the rice is fragrant without being too oily, and the chilli packs just the right amount of punch. Every element is simple, but done exceptionally well. It’s the kind of place that keeps you coming back, not just because of the food, but because of the people behind it. If you’re willing to brave the queue, I promise you won’t regret it.

Whenever I'm at this market, this Chicken Rice Stall is my go-to place. To me, it's one of the better ones in Ang Mo Kio; both the guy taking orders and the preparer are so polite - hard to find these days, especially when their business is so good. The rice is fragrant, the boneless chicken is tender, and the chilli is just nice and not too spicy. Will patronize again if I'm in this area.

I rate this as a tier one chicken rice in Singapore. Chicken meat was tender and given without bones Fair portions and pricing. Fragrant rice and comes with optional ginger sauce. Absolute a delight and treasure in AMK. A slight wait is required due to high demand but the meal is prepared rather quickly!

Very affordable and good chicken rice! 4.5 for chicken thigh but portion might be a bit small, should be still affordable if upsize. Chicken is relatively tender and rice is more fragrant than it looks, nice chili with a kick too. Just need a bit of queue but they chop fast.

This is the BEST chicken rice ever! The chicken is so juicy and tender. Small details tells me this stall sells chicken rice with a lot of pride. Cucumber sliced into thin even strips and the parsley looks freshly plucked. I brought my bowl back to the stall to top up my clear soup, to my surprise the stall holder said better to have a new bowl. I got just that, another bowl of fresh hot steaming clear soup with spring onion topping. My other half have been eating this stall for 20 over years, he also witness the boss pouring down a pot ot chicken gravy into the sink because he think it is sub standard! Really impressing. On the way out, I saw a delivery man pushing a trolley of golden phoenix rice to ManFu. The boss is a proud chicken man all right, respect! P. S: I manage to get a photo of the boss!
