Chee Chong Fun laksa is nice with fish based and hearb. The 白果腐竹is well nice, soft and smooth, sweetness well balanced. Honey butter loft is tasty with well quaility butter and honey, soft and crunchy at top. Walk-in afternoon, with well sheltered, not too hot, with natural wind. Definitely well worth to have casual tea time.
View on GoogleWe tried the $4 Congee and Bee Hoon bundle deal, which offered good value for money and brought back a nostalgic, old-school taste that many Singaporeans will appreciate. The standout item was definitely the Honey Butter Toast. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and generously coated with honey butter, it’s easy to see why it’s their best-seller. This is a must-order if you’re visiting. We also tried the Cinnamon Toast. While it tasted decent, it paled in comparison to the Honey Butter Toast and didn’t leave quite the same impression. Important Note: Don’t come here if you’re in a rush. The queue can be quite long, and we waited about 30 minutes for our food after queuing. However, if you have the time and don’t mind the wait, the nostalgic flavours and satisfying toast make the experience worthwhile. Overall: Good value, nostalgic local flavours, excellent Honey Butter Toast, but be prepared for a lengthy wait.
View on GoogleSecond visit on Weekday less crowded hence get your order faster. Luv the egg mayo toast, laksa Chee Cheong fun & fried bee hoon (plenty of crispy tau Kee enhanced this simple dish)! Will come back for more for sure. Note the opening hours & it’s closed on Tues.
View on GoogleVery home made. I think we hade everything in the menu for like 14$ including Kopi and Teh. For some reason they didn’t have toast, so need to go back for that. The glutinous rice was very nice. Laksa and Beehoon was also nice.
View on GoogleLovely service from the team. Generally felt that is a hurried service hence the food is sub par compared to when we were here pre-covid. Glutinous rice lacks the fragrance you would associate with those home made or made fresh daily type as the combination of dried prawns n mushrooms n shallots would give it that fragrance but it’s lacking here and tasted like it’s supplied. Fried beehoon was supposedly one of their signature, taste wise it’s bit bland although the crackling soy strips are nice - a pity. Laksa Chee Cheong Fun probably the tastiest dish for us today - it’s there’s some chill it - I think will elevate the taste even more. Chee Cheong Fun is quite disappointing as it’s hard to miss this and we think it’s because there is a lack of a drizzle of oil to smoothen the bite would have given it an usual experience that one would expect of Chee Cheong fun from hawker centers. Thick Honey Butter Toast - bread is too thick hence you will bite n taste the bland part as only the top is coated w butter and the honey could be a bit more generous. Thick Peanut Toast - same as the honey butter as bread is too thick and somehow the overall taste is dry so in comparison the honey butter is better. There were a lot of expectations but unfortunately today it was not met.
