Well worth the trip here to try this! 💯 It’s been awhile since I had a good plate of braised duck rice, and this certainly is fitting for the occasion! 🤤 Ordered a plate with extra meat since it’s known to be good, and got another serving of duck meat, which were tender and went very well with the braised sauce. They also came with half an egg, which was welcomed for the additional protein 👍🏻 The soup was herbalicious too, a great side to have before and after the meal. We did arrive right before opening and “pre-ordered” our meal so we didn’t have to wait in the queue - but was really surprised at how the boss’s son remembers everyone’s orders when we all came back at opening 👍🏻 Definitely a great spot for a traditional braised duck rice, comforting and just delicious 💯
View on GoogleLong House Soon Kee (Boneless) Braised Duck Rice. This old school braised duck spot goes all the way back to 1984 - from Jalan Besar Stadium days to the Upper Thomson Long House era. Now split between two brothers - AMK/younger & Balestier/elder. Dropped by the AMK stall this time. Ordered half duck/S$24, plus gizzard/S$1.00 & egg/S$1.00, with yam rice/S$1.00 & a plain porridge/S$1.00 The duck is exceptionally tender, juicy, & fully deboned for convenience. It’s coated in a thick, fragrant herbal braising sauce - nicely balanced, not overly salty or sweet, while the sambal, garlic, & vinegar mix dipping sauce gives a sharp, piquant kick. Comes with a free clear soup - light, slightly sweet, with a subtle dang gui/当归 herbal taste. One of those places I come back to now & then - steady, no frills comfort meal.
View on GoogleSauce is innovative, not seen in any duck rice place. Soup and sauce taste awesome. Duck meat also quite tender. Really liked how the soup make me feel better. The staff is friendly and kind too. Smiley and joking with each other ;) $5
View on GoogleLong House Soon Kee Duck serves one of the best duck noodles I’ve had in Singapore. The noodles are cooked just right — springy and smooth with a nice bite. The duck is tender, flavourful, and not overly fatty. What really stands out is the sauce — rich, savoury, and perfectly balanced. It coats the noodles and duck beautifully, tying the whole dish together. The portion size is generous, and the price is reasonable for the quality you get. Service is quick and efficient, even when it gets busy during lunch hours. The stall is located in a popular food court, so it can be a bit crowded, but it’s definitely worth queuing for. You can tell they’ve been doing this for years — the consistency and flavour really speak for themselves. Highly recommended for anyone who loves classic duck noodles done right. I’ll definitely be back for more!
View on GoogleI've savored the best braised duck rice here, ate here not once but twice and it will be counting. Despite the queue, priced at just $4.50, it's a steal for the generous serving of succulent duck with all the trimmings.
