Honestly im not a fan of the peppery style of bkt. This one to me feel like it is overly peppery. Other dishes did carry the meal for me though. You must get the Sesame oil chicken. That was probably the best dish of the night. Also, you gotta get the friedly fried dough fritters, those were crispy and hot. Also their preserved vege is really delicious too. It is slightly sweet in taste and contrasts very well with the meat.
View on GoogleNot sure if standard drop or inconsistent? The soup lacks the famous peppery smell/taste and more like a normal soup. It wasn't served piping hot either and tasted like a hot soup that has been boiled more than an hr ago that needs some reheating. The only thing that's really hot is this outlet which has way too much 'daylight' and little 'air'.
View on GoogleOrdered a couple of ala-carte items with an ice lemon tea and the set lunch which came with the drink 'King's garden tea with honey' When the server came, I asked for 1 cup of ice as the drinks are too sweet for us. She curly that it was chargeable. First of all, there was no option to add remarks to make the drink less sweet like to dilute it for example. Second, if I didn't order any drinks and asked for a cup of ice, sure understand it's chargeable. So basically its drink it as it is served, too bad if its too sweet for u. Pay for ice if u wanna dilute the drink.
View on GoogleFood is always yummy and consistent. Service provided by staff is very good. Special mention Deana Ling. Wish for the claypot pork tenderloin to be back on the menu again.
View on GoogleI visited around 3 pm+ on a Sunday, and there was no crowd, with the staff eating their late lunch I think. This time round the pepper had decrease?? but still had a nice hint of pepper that made it warm and comforting. the pork ribs were tender, liver blanched on order as raw so it is not tough.the Dou Miao impressed with their rich, savory flavors, all food come with the small portion.
