I have been craving this popular rojak spot in Tampines for years, and finally we chanced upon it again. Luckily for us, we managed to get a seat rather quickly despite its usual crowd. More than a decade later, it felt a little nostalgic revisiting a place that had left such a strong impression on my taste buds. Known for their crispy fritters, fresh ingredients and that signature rojak sauce that ties everything together, it was about time I returned to see if the flavours I remembered were still as satisfying as before. While waiting for the rojak to be freshly fried and served, I started with a cup of Bandung. The chilled drink was a refreshing mix of rose syrup and milk, lightly sweet with that familiar floral aroma. It was the perfect companion to cool down in the afternoon heat while patiently watching the kitchen prepare the rojak from scratch. Sometimes, the anticipation makes the first sip taste even better. For the rojak, I went with my usual picks, cuttlefish, tau gua, fish fillet, prawn fritters, potato etc. The platter arrived generously topped with sliced green chillies, crunchy cucumbers and fresh red onions, adding a refreshing contrast to the fried items. Despite the fast turnover at the stall, the ingredients tasted fresh and the fritters were nicely crisp without being overly greasy, making the whole plate very enjoyable. For every piece of rojak on the plate, I made sure to dip it generously into the sweet red sauce that was served on the side. The sauce was thick, slightly tangy and nicely balanced with sweetness, coating each fritter and ingredient perfectly. After finishing the first bowl of sauce rather quickly, I asked for a refill and the staff were friendly enough to provide another serving without hesitation, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Even after all these years, I am still very fond of their Indian rojak. Whenever the craving for Indian rojak strikes, Al Mahboob Rojak is always one of the first places that comes to mind. There is just something comforting about their crispy fritters, fresh ingredients and that addictive sweet sauce that keeps me coming back.

Have been eating at this place for several years now but stopped for the last 2 years. Returned this week to eat there and found that they now offer the bowls of sauces that go with the Indian rojak by the amount of the meal. Hmmm ... 🤔 not sure if this is good. There were 3 of us that day and I was told I had to add 2 more pieces before I could get 3 bowls of the sauce. Since it was just 2 more pieces, I added. However, what if members of the group are not family or familiar friends and have to dig into shared small bowls? In view of all kinds of viruses around, I wonder if insisting on a certain amount so that one gets individual sauces is a good sales ploy... We also had a plate of beehoon goreng that was nice. Plus, tea tarik of course!

My first time visiting Al Mahboob on friend's reco. The overall taste is average and somehow seemed dry. Some of the rojak pieces were too crispy and hard. There was one type i picked made of gram or something, was so flaky it breaks into 'powder'. Kwayteow goreng was ok. Teh tarik too manis. The entire floor near the place to order was so slippery coated with oil. Felt very unhygienic. There are certainly many better ones out there.

Ordered a good mix of Indian rojak items. Everything was good except the fried toufu was spoiled because it has a vinaigry taste. Told the server behind the food counter about it. They all insisted the fried toufu was like that. So I ordered another piece to challenge their refusal to admit that the toufu we were served was bad. All the six of us at the table absolutely agree the prior toufu was spoiled... We also had kambing soup which was outstanding... The fried rice and mee goreng were tasty too. Very disappointed and disturbing that this fame restaurant would serve bad food!!!!!

We ordered the Indian Rojak (where you get to choose from a sufficiently wide variety of items), maggi goreng with egg, and fried chicken wings. Food was great, but do expect to wait for a while. Also, do note that there are two waiting systems - one for Indian Rojak, and one for all other food you order.
